Floydmayweather 10-08-2005, 04:48 PM 25 minutes straight at a steady pace(1 min break) thats roy jones, follow him...........if you can :D Most people cant do that, and should not try to unless they build up to it over a long time. Burg1606 10-08-2005, 04:50 PM Yea i do what ross does but just 3 less sets, plus hes pretty much a hardass, i cant do what he can yet maybe in a year or so. EXIGE 10-08-2005, 04:56 PM Most people cant do that, and should not try to unless they build up to it over a long time. I can do it, and didnt have to build up to it. 25 minutes straight. Only rest i got was when the rope caught up. Even then i added roughly 3 minutes on top at the end to make up for that time..... boxstarr 10-08-2005, 04:57 PM The best jump rope article ever.... -->HERE<-- (http://www.rossboxing.com/thegym/thegym26.htm) you stole the link i gave  hectari 10-08-2005, 05:37 PM That is a very good article EXIG! 6 rounds for 3 minutes is for pros man! Am i a supernatural at skipping or something? Firstly i was told that most cant do 25 minutes straight now im told this? that ross guy isnt that good .I'm only 17 and I can do all the things hee can do in his vids and then some. but just do 3 3min rounds of like intense stuff then 20 min at a steady pace tebe6sm 10-09-2005, 01:11 AM that ross guy isnt that good .I'm only 17 and I can do all the things hee can do in his vids and then some. but just do 3 3min rounds of like intense stuff then 20 min at a steady pace that ross guy isn't that good?????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????? tebe6sm 10-09-2005, 01:12 AM i'm sorry but i highly doubt that hectari 10-09-2005, 01:58 AM Your full of shit, and even if you can, then you MUST half ass. I dont think he is full of shit! little kids in elementary and jr high can do jump rope for like 15 minutes straight heck I used to do jump rope everyday when I was little, but now im heavier and slower. Floydmayweather 10-09-2005, 05:21 AM i dont think little kids jump rope like that, but anyway i am up to ten minutes and i started using heavy rope and i box. (25 minutes or 6 3 minute rounds does seem like alot. But if you are talking about the pace which he does it on Ross Boxing, then hell no! But i can do it, at a fast pace... Was there a misunderstanding there? ophqui 10-09-2005, 07:20 AM hmm, my 'jump rope' (skipping to us Brits) workout consists of 4x 45 seconds sprint sets (thats as fast as u possibly can for 45 secs, then 1 minute break and go again). It absolutely kills the shoulders and gets the heart going nicely. leff 10-09-2005, 11:07 AM Are you lot saying i couldnt do those things: -25 minutes -6- 3 minute rounds I can... But if you are talking about the pace which he does it on Ross Boxing, then hell no! But i can do it, at a fast pace... Was there a misunderstanding there? i dont think i would have a problem wirh skipping 20 min in a row, but the pace would be a lot worse than with 5 times 2min like i useally do. i fight 2min rounds so i think that skipping hard at 2 min rounds is better boxingtraining than 20 in a row. of course a combination could be tha best. Exactly man, combine the 2. That way you get the best result... And 20 mins aint hard is it... All these people act like its impossible and they dont believe me when i say i can do 25 minutes... leff 10-09-2005, 11:45 AM it reckon it works just like bagwork and roadwork, a combinations off longrun and intervals is the best. EXIGE 10-09-2005, 11:57 AM it reckon it works just like bagwork and roadwork, a combinations off longrun and intervals is the best. Yeah. For my roadwork i often to a same fast pace, but occasionally i do sprint then jog.... I run home from college every day, and my stamina is soo good now. hectari 10-09-2005, 12:44 PM i dont think little kids jump rope like that, but anyway i am up to ten minutes and i started using heavy rope and i box. Burg1606 10-09-2005, 03:47 PM I know that Ross guy is good random guy. Have u seen how built he is. Im sure he could kick any of our asses. plus yea lil kids should be able to do that hell i could when i was in 5th grade thats all we did in gym plus we were small and could move quick, now im 6 foot 215 pounds and slower but am building up my speed. I can tell that after running ive lost weight but since my hip pain ive stoped and feel like shit. All i want to do is jump rope but i cant, it sucks. leff 10-09-2005, 04:06 PM skipping to much at your weight can hurt your shins when your not used to training. get on a bike until your a bit lighter Burg1606 10-09-2005, 06:02 PM its not my shins that hurt its my hip. I have strong legs its just my hip. It might be my shoes. hectari 10-09-2005, 06:06 PM its not my shins that hurt its my hip. I have strong legs its just my hip. It might be my shoes. you need to stop jumping for a while let them recover your hip flexors are sore! you shouldnt jump rope everyday it puts alot of pressure on your hip because the repeated jumping up and down especially if your heavy. leff 10-09-2005, 06:46 PM its not my shins that hurt its my hip. I have strong legs its just my hip. It might be my shoes. i didnt say they are hurting, i say its easy to get shinsplints when your body is new to running and skipping, thrust me, i got damn strong legs, didnt mean i didnt get shin splints when i began training Rampage* 10-09-2005, 08:00 PM its not my shins that hurt its my hip. I have strong legs its just my hip. It might be my shoes. 6 feet 215 you sound like a pretty big guy. What's your bf%? Burg1606 10-09-2005, 10:36 PM dude im a fat ass well not really but my body % is 31.5 i think its false cause i dont look fat, im not really that big. but when i jump rope it doesnt hurt my hips only running but i workout a lot but havent got shin splints yet did when i was younger. i want to get down to like 15% but its going to be tuff. random guy 10-10-2005, 12:43 AM i'm sorry but i highly doubt that Whats so hard to believe about that. I have been boxing for 4 years and I would jump rope more then I did anything else. I mess up sometimes and I sure as shit didnt just start doing doubles one day I worked my ass off to get where I am. vBulletin® v3.7.1, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
