View Full Version : Question...
canadian1 10-08-2005, 02:09 PM I am thinking about joining this Boxing Club near my house here in Toronto. I have always wanted to learn how to box as my dad was an amateur fighter for quite some time. The problem is, I am not in shape at all. I have been exercising everyday for the past year, and when I began I was 230lbs and now I'm 180lbs. I'm 5 foot 9, but if I am going to box for the learning aspect, I also want to get fit while I'm learning.
Do you think Boxing will help me tone my body so that I won't have this unwanted body fat and lack of visible muscle all over?

It will help you for sure dude....
Dont worry about fitness levels or anything like that. You seem to have dropped a lot of weight in the past year.
When i began my fitness level was quite low, but i wasnt fat. It was more to do with the stamina with me, but now, i am in the greatest shape of my life, and i am a very sporty person. I have only boxed for around 5 months roughly.
Take it up. Thats what i say....

What club do you play for? I'm going back to Boro in November if I'm still playing soccer.

If you do the training required for all boxers including the sparring itself, hell yes you will burn a ton of calories.
