I have stopped boxing training for awhile, because I play football, and work, and don't have time for it. I also have stopped watching boxing as for current, because I can't keep up with it. My question is about an injury I recieved to my right shoulder.

I hit a kid in one of my games, and it bruised the tendon in my shoulder, and I was out for a week, and it was supposed to be healed. This was 2 weeks ago. I cannot throw a ball, or even do a throwing motion. I can no longer do a right hook or a high right uppercut. All my right are punches are weak as hell. When I do a rotation of my shoulder, it cracks very loud every time. Why would it be cracking if it's not the bone? Do you think I'll ever be able to regain the strength in my shoulder?

I think you may have torn some deep cartilage and probably need to take at least a month off and have a doctor look at it. I injuried my left shoulder years ago and after proper training at supplementation i gotta the pop back and then some. (In short yes)

My assistant works in physical therapy, she said: Rest the shoulder, especially for overhead motions. You may have inflamed the rotator cuff, which could cause that popping you hear. With rest, ice and anti-inflamatories(Advil, Motrin) the muscle tissue should heal in about three weeks. After that, try a light workout, if it continues to hurt, it can be either weakness or a deeper joint problem. If so, consult a doctor.

Ive had the same symptoms. I was told it was tendonitis. Ask your doctor for a shot of cortizone in the shoulder and see if it helps. There is a surgury they can do that removes some of the calcium build up to give the tendons more room to slide in and out.
Ive decided to live with mine for now. I rest it and when I do any over head movements or whatever it acts up for a while and gets better.
You may also have rotator cuff damage, your doctor may order and MRI to check it out. If thats the case, and your young surgury might be your only option. But I hear the recovery is long and its easy to re-injur if not healed completely.

I've been dealing with the exact same ****. My shoulder cracks everytime I rotate it. It's painless but sometimes it gets annoying as ****. I don't even pay attention to it anymore I just work through it.

No, I'm not a doctor, I work in the non-profit arts. One of my part-time employees works full time in physical therapy, so I asked for her advice. We're both glad it was helpful.
Keep your guard up, and protect yourself at all times!
