View Full Version : Jason Giambi - Comeback Player of the Year
Explosivo 10-07-2005, 11:42 AM What the **** is this ****? This mother****er cant play worth a **** because he gets of the RIODS, then, after weening himself off the juice, starts to actually be a decent ballplayer again. Why in the world should this guy get an award for being a decent player after lying and cheating and getting off of steroids? This is bull****.
Super_Lightweight 10-07-2005, 11:45 AM Baseball...
*yawn*
BLOODSHED 10-07-2005, 11:45 AM Gotta agree there. Baseball = boring.
RAESAAD 10-07-2005, 12:01 PM I would defend him a little but he is a Yankee so **** him.
SonnyG8R 10-07-2005, 12:58 PM Giambi deserved the award. To say otherwise shows you don't understand the sport or what Giambi went through.
oldgringo 10-07-2005, 01:04 PM He hit like 30 homers in the second half. Come on people do you understand what an AMAZING second half of the season that is?

Giambi definately doesnt deserve to be comeback player I mean he has improved his game but he doesnt have me fooled like all you other jokers out there. This guy sucked when he was on steroids accept when he did hit the ball it went out, then he gets cancer or what not from taking steroids has it removed, stops steroids sucks really bad even worse than before, now he starts hitting the ball out again and occassionally base hits....He's on roids again people! Thats the only reason he's doing well again.
ShowStopper 10-07-2005, 02:46 PM Dude he hit like 32 home runs with most of them were either game saving or gamewinning home runs, and it was off da juice. He gotta get it.
Anyway Rodrigues for MVP!!!

ALL Praise Ba...uh, I meam Giambi.
The Fix 10-07-2005, 02:51 PM ken griffey who also won that award, was more impressive imo.
ken griffey was thought to be washed up and injury prone and although he missed the tail end of the season, what he did was impressive.

I thought they were both impressive. Griffey had a sweet season for the time he played.

he came back from injuries which imo is far more respectable than coming back from cheating.

Actually Giambi was coming back from sucking hardcore ass for a year and a half too.

true........................
Explosivo 10-07-2005, 04:17 PM They both had impressive seasons, but you have to look at what the guys had to come back from. Griffy - injuries. Giambi - steriods. You should get an award for coming back from steriods.

he's back on the roids thats the only reason giambi is doing well again, he was never any good when he was off them and that doesnt change in a matter of months.

Agreed 100%
masterdirector 10-07-2005, 05:44 PM Giambi was definitely overrated as hell when I watched baseball more closely. I can't comment currently cause I don't know ****. Hard to follow baseball without cable. And I live in South ****ing Carolina, so they just shove the ****** Braves down our throats. And they even show the ****ing Marlins and Tampa Bay over the Yankees.
Giami ****ing sucked from anything I ever saw. Its no coincidence he was a 1st baseman, typically a ****ty player who can hit. I still think they should've dumped him and kept Soriano. I would've kept Soriano and passed on Rodriguez. The Yankees should've picked up Bonds 2-3 years ago when Bonds was a free agent. Nobody even tried getting Bonds. Who cares if Bonds is a dick? He's a damn good player, my favorite player ever. Unarguably one of the best players ever.

Yes it was, but there's no question he has been injury prone and very disappointing since joining the Reds.
SonnyG8R 10-07-2005, 05:53 PM No offense Explosivo and Rocco but you guys don't know what you are talking about.
Giambi is not coming back from being on roids, Hes coming back from a pituitary tumor and an intestinal parasites.
Yes he admitted to using steroids but if you ask me his honesty is far more honorable than the lies of Bonds, Sosa, McGuire, Palmiero and dozens of others in the sport.
masterdirector 10-07-2005, 06:04 PM I am not at all convinced that Bonds knowingly took steroids. He lives in California, where the Balco labs started. Same with Vargas and Mosley. I remember reading about Balco labs before the controversy with steroids started. They were the hot new lab like a trendy GNC or something it made me think at the time.
And notice how they never mention all those ****ty players that took steroids. they still suck, so they don't get in trouble. I guess partially b/c since they suck they don't get investigated or caught.
