andrew jones jr lost as well

i lost in the diamond gloves

i was stoped tko 1st round

i finally fought a real big strong heavy

i found out i was fighting on friday
i wasnt in the best shape(came in at 199 all time high)
dude was 201 solid tall around 6'2

everyone kept telling me he was going to jump on me from the start so i was prepared to pivot and sidestep when needed

bell sounded and he didnt jump on me
i jumped on him
i was jabbing slipping and hitting him with combos easy
i was feeling good
the mroe i landed the more i was getting comfortable

i was throwing and landing lead left hooks body shots
slipping everything he had

then i threw a perfect right hook that landed
but at the same time he landed the same punch on me

all feeling in my legs were gone
i feel onto the ropes as i escaped a second shot
then the ref made him go back as he gave me a
standing 8 first one in my amature career

my right arm was so tensed i couldnt bend it back
it felt like it was a cramp but no pain

my legs started to come to at 6 i was ready at 8

i knew he was gonna jump right on me after the count
and he did

i was slipping everything again
and when i got my legs back i started to punch again
and bam another right hook same spot
right on my ear neck area

and my legs were gone again
he started throwing shots
most missed but my legs were gone i hit the ropes
and the ref steped in and waved it off

since then lots of things been going through my mind

why was i fighting wiht injuries
why was i fighting out of shape
why am i fighting heavyweight
why didnt i jsut box dude in and out

well i cant do anything about that now
i feel this guy could beat me on any day for
the fact i cant take his punch
mines knocke dhim back i was faster and better boxer
but he can land one punch and turn the tides

all i know is this is my last fight at heavweight
all im doing is working on going down to 160 and then ill fight again

sorry to hear about the lose man. Dropping from heavy down to 160 is going to be a task and maybe a self defeating one. As you grow stronger and in better condition you will find that you will be able to take blows better.

Might I recommend first dropping to 178 and testing the waters there. You will find the power of your opponents not as great but the speed of your opponents will be noticably faster. Either way its good to hear that your sticking with it.

And any way, getting stopped in a bout is no big deal. Its happened to us all at some point. And it seems like there were always certain guys that carried bricks in their gloves. Keep it going man, you be boxin' circles around these guys in time and dropping your bombs on them. Good luck man,

Rockin' :boxing:

ps.... whats your record at now?

don't doubt ur self...shit there are so many stoppages in the amateurs its ridiculous....shit the best get stopped...even KO'd

but the true test is when u get off the canvas again and again...or when you have to make it through the mentally-excruciating pain of losing...

losing sucks ass. evry1 hates it but you've already learned wat you did wrong and thats half way there...all thats left is executing.

at least u admitted it. that happens alot in amatuers, with more experience it wont happen again. with big experienced heavyweights or any strong experienced fighters i found, neva rush them but try n upset their game. if u rush them and try enforce upon them, normally they r too smart walk straight threw ya. once u get more fites under ya belt, possibly even 10 or more, u will vbeat him 4 sure.

BAH 1 amature loss dont mean much.

youl be back, in fact its good for you, a loss will make you train harder and be better than ever when you get bcak.

160lbs is way off, you should try lightheavy first.

A loss teaches you more then a victory, it's hard yes but it will make you so sharp. You just dont wanna lose again so you will train even harder and you will fight harder. I know cause i experienced it.

Damn, sounds bad.

But another thing. You should have danced away until the bell gave you what you needed. You were so many points ahead, that you don't wanna get TKO/KO'ed yet!
