Okay, I'll break the ice ;)
I'm Lol, 40 years old, married with two kids (17 & 15). Live in the "North". Currently at college heading towards BSc in Business IT, hope to lecture in IT and maths next year. I'm 6'3", 225lb (trying to lose a bit of tyre), shave head, goatee, large piercing in earhole, tattoos. Yes, I do look like a Doorman as my mother frequently reminds me. Even on my graduation photo I apparently look like I should be checking invites :D I have been interested in boxing for as long as I can remember but never got the chance to try it. Other than that I like lifting weights and E-Baying (sad, but I love a bargain being from the North).
Claim to fame? I once tickled a guy until he shit himself. It was quite spectacular!

Lol

Name: Martin
Age: 26yrs
Location: Just outside London, UK
Hobbies: Travelling - (Spent 18 months bumming/backpacking around S.E.Asia, love scuba diving!!!), Musician - (Guitar/Piano), I used to be an amatuer boxer from ages 11yrs-17yrs but unfortunatly I discovered women/cigarettes/alcohol and that was the end of that. I still train once/twice a week on the bag/speed ball/skipping but that's all.

Oh, and I've got this tattoo on my arm:

I'll finish by adding... I think I am actually addicted to boxing, but then again so is everyone else in this lounge... LOL!... ;)

Good to meet you fellas! That's a cool tat Martin, wish i'd thought of that first!

I'm Barry, 26 years old from sunny Glasgow!(Check out C5 2nite at about 11ish for some laughs!)I've worked in a wide range of jobs from office work to good old fashioned manual labour but I'm sticking with the labouring work as I enjoy having a laugh with the boys and it's basically a more relaxed atmosphere than the office jobs i've had in the past. I am also tattooed with a shaven skull but I don't look like a doorman, that's too respectable for me :D
I got interested in boxing during the Tyson era and have been hooked ever since, I did some boxing in my early teens but like most preferred to roam the streets, tut tut! My main highlight in boxing is meeting Muhammad Ali in 1992 & getting my picture taken with him, what a day :boxing:

My real name is Andrew. Just turned 36 last month. Born, raised, & still live in Philadelphia, PA- first city of boxing !
Do design work for a very large engineering & construction company in Princeton, New Jersey. Been here for 12 years (been in Princeton since '99). I'm also a bartender (weekends).
Been with a great woman for almost 3 years now. I was with another from '90-'02. Bought a home with her in '96. Things fell apart shortly thereafetr. Best thing that ever happened. Very happy now. No kids.
Been an obsessed fight fan since '81, when I was 11. Was an amateur boxer, briefly, in the late 80's. Was training youngin's in the late 90's at two different gyms.....but work relocation started dominating, slowly causing me to stop. Always thinking about getting back into it, but don't want to get it going, & then be unreliable.

GOOD TO KNOW A BIT MORE ABOUT YOU ALL!

Well as most of you know my parents decided to take the royal piss and call me Julian, hence the shortening to J, which is my more or less adopted name in life now outside family.

Im an oil trader for a well known multinational whom I joined in 1992 who sponsered me to study while i worked, and after numerous jobs not all in trading environment, I settled in the present job for the past 3 years, but will shortly move to something else.

Am keen on all sports in particular Rugby cricket (both of which i played to a decent standard) and boxing, which Ive wirtten about to a half decent standard hahaha. Always been interested in combat sports as id Karate form the age of 7 to 19, but after gettIng my ass kicked in a tournament decided id had enough, I did have to go to hospital mind even thuogh i was a second dan.

These days i jkeep fit with a bit of padwork and sparring with a mate of mine who is pretty tasty at Mhouy Thai, squash and five a side football.

Occasionally play rugby and cricket.

I had a long term gfriend til 2001 we lived together for six years unfortunatly i met her too young and various pressures became to much and we split.
These days Ive got used to doing what i like when i like but obviously that might change should I meet the right one in the meantime i have a few femaile friends i meet for social activities shall we say.

Got into boxing i guess around the hagler hearns era, and subsequent brit champs Barry Mc and ragamuffin man - Honeygun.

I got into the writing side of things through a prediction league a few years back, and then posted a preview of a hatotn fight i was going to on box rec and the editor of the BBN contacted me to see if he could interest me in joining up.

Which I did pretty much non stop for 9 moths or so, unfortuantly like most things if i do thee things I do em 100% and it became a bit time consuming.

So for now the writing is on the back burner but i shall return its a long life (hopefully).

Motto: If you can learn from a bad situation or adversity and handle it better next time, then you cant go too far wrong in life!

Okay, guess it's my turn.

I'm 28 years old, married for 6 years...yep, do the math, I was pretty young. But no complaints :) .

Always been a big sports fan but for a while boxing was always sort of on the periphery. Started following it more and more and now it's #1 in my books. Nothing else like it, really. What other profession do guys intentionally try to hurt each other for a living? Something about it that borders on the religious.

As for my life I work in a shit office job for a pretty successful software company that if you work in business you might have heard of. My job is low-level, though, and the managers are idiots, and the work is pretty much useless, so I survive by posting on this forum and watching fights when I can.

My real interest (besides boxing) is in history, specifcally European history after my wife and I took a 3-month backpacking tour of the place on the cheap a few years back. This fall I started officially taking classes part-time at a local university and if all goes well I'll be switching over to full-time eventually and doing something academic-related for a living. Seems kind of stuffy, but there's something about learning about the past that's really compelling...lets you understand a lot more what's going on in the world now, maybe.

I've become a big fight downloader the past year or so. Right now my collection stands at 240 CDs and counting. The more I get into boxing the more I like watching the club shows, prospects, journeymen, etc., as opposed to the more hyped-up PPV events.

I think Marvin Hagler is the most well-liked boxer ever, by true boxing fans.

My opinion of him....is that he was everything that embodied a fighter.

He was a complete fighter. A true technician. He was also a great slugger when he needed to be, & later in his career- he needed to be.
He came up hard as nails....fighting frequently. He made his name by coming to the Middleweight tough guy breeding ground called Philadelphia, & taking on the best. He overcame two losses (one a controversial call), avenging both, & eventually conquered the city.

He never avoided a challenge. He defended his title with honor.
His fights were always exciting, even though he usually far superior.
His fight with Hearns is the most intense fight ever fought bewteen two genuine superstars.

His final fight....was a controversial one. He left the game after that, & NEVER returned. We never got to see him become fodder for the younger guys.....& he'll always be remembered for when he was on top.
He's actually a folk hero...the way he overcame adversity, poloitics, controversy....& for sticking his middle finger up directly at those things.

He was the f*ckin' man.

agreed Jabs he was a real therowback to the old days, its also the sdame reason i have a lot admiration for Lennox, despite his lazy attitude sometimes he always got hiomslef bak in shape to abvenge his loss.

You just knew if he got beat he was gonna be ten times better the 2nd time.

And LOL i donht think im that mentally stable mate either. :D

This is for Bobby Peru from his PM. When I was 15 we used to go fishing a lot about 3 miles walk from home. This guy who always went with us would have a shit in the woods every morning on the way to the lake. This particular day he didn't. At all. We got about 2 miles from home on the return leg and he was loudly proclaiming "to be touching cloth". So we did what any decent 15 year old would do. We got him down and tickled his ribs until he shit himself! At first he was all laughter and wriggling, then there was the loudest wet fart lnown to man! At this point the laughing stopped and he was not a happy bunny :D He did a really good impersonation of the John Wayne walk for the next 2 miles home!

Lol

LMFAO

Thats just ****ing cruel.

Speaking about shit..

My brother once was waiting for his wife in a carpark, eating KFC, a bucket of chicken etc, and a while after he finished, he needed to go poo poo.
So, his only choice was to climb onto the back seat, squat over the empty bucket and relax.
This was in the middle of the day!

He then wiped his arse with the KFC napkins and disposed of the evidence.
He has no sense of smell so, he is capable of shitting in confined places we could only dream of. lol

Well, as a common denominater to all of our Brit chaps, I drink me beer by the pint generally and heartily as well. Alas, I was planning some grill action today, and wouldn't you know that on a spur last night I purchused some Guiness 16 oz Stouts and today was blessed with an English cold front and rain after enduring months of 100 degree rainless weather.
