I am suggesting to give users an option of how much Karma they can contribute, within their limits of course.

Here is what I mean:
Lets say someone is a powerful Karma 'giver' meaning he/she can turn a someone's Karma all blue, or all red.
Based on how good, or how offensive the content of a post is, we should be able to pick how many Karma points we can award.

So lets say my Karma power is 3000 Karma points...
I don't want to turn someone's bar all red, but still bring the point across, so I'd give him 100 neg K points..
Same if someone posted a good post and I want to award him some Karma points, I'd give him lets say 100 K+ points... and choose not to turn him all blue over one post.
If a post is excellent, I'd choose to give that poster lets say 1000 Karma points...
When a person is being a complete #@^%, hit him all the way with negative!


TO ACCOMPLISH THIS:
If on a Karma window you could add a label - showing what is the maximum points you can assign and another textbox where you can enter the number of pints you want to give (pos, or neg).. I believe this would be a Great Idea!
1 - in a way, controls the Karma to a reasonable...
2 - adds fun
3 - shows superiority of your site

Hmmm, definetly worth considering at least.

I say get rid of the karma points limit though.... thats more important to me.

Your karma points can only reach a certain point until it stops going any higher. Hence santino, abdiel and crew...

That's a good suggestion if we all had powerful Karma, most of the members Karma is less than 50 Karma points.
I've been given good K by members with over 1000 posts but their Karma was only worth 4 points, imagine if that poster only wanted to give me a percentage of that!

Also people with a red bar will find it more difficult to get back on the blue when they're only getting a % of an otherwise valuable Karma hit.

Just my 2 cents.

maybe start a poll in the lounge asking yes/no if you agree with this suggestion. That might get their attention.
