i'm 5'10''. been boxing for a couple years on and off
Rockin' 10-04-2005, 01:06 PM Your workout shows that you run 3 days, box 2 and rest 2. You run more than you box? Trust me, being able to win a foot race will not help you when the bell rings. I would definately up my visits to the boxing gym if boxing is what you want to do.

Pugnacious_Z 10-04-2005, 11:21 PM hey mna, rockin1 is right, do u want to be a boxer or a runner? to become a better boxer, it is more beneficial to train boxing 5 days a week and never run then box for 2 days and run for 3.

Don't jog alot if you're not trying to lose fat.
If you want to box, you should not jog so much.
You should sprint mabey for 30 seconds, jog for a minute and then sprint 30 seconds again over and over again.
A boxer in the ring is not relying on jumping around until the bell rings for the last time.
He's going to be punching and using the explosive power.
You need to train your lungs to punch and not run.
You'll be exhausted even though you jog alot, but not if you sprint.
I am NEVER tired in my lungs after a fight, even though i'm STIFF. BUT! When i'm in there throwing combinations, I get slow and tired very fast. Jog 1 day a week and sprint every day along with your training.
