View Full Version : I will never pay to see Roy fight again, there is absolutely no ****ing way!
For those who would like to sugar coat this weekends fight go right ahead, for those who would like to say that Roy is some warrior go ahead and lie to yourself, go ahead!
Roy was not there on Saturday night to fight, he was not there to win....the mother****er only cared about surviving!
There were a lot of people (maxboxing/**********) that were predicting a Roy Jones KO over Tarver, I got news for you Roy Jones couldnt KO Ivan Calderon, got it!
3 rounds went by and Roy had landed 6/7 punches, WTF...$50 for a guy simply looking to go 12, hell listening to Roy he won simply by going 12 rounds with a guy that KO'd him...I got news for Roy Jones, you aint beating Glenn Johnson either, or Jeff LAcy or Joe Calzaghe or any fighter that will pressure you.
Jones for many years was amazing, as unbeatable as any prize fighter I have ever watched (or so I thought) and he deserves alot of credit but this saturday was bull****, it was a couple of fighters that I dont particularly like both going out and really looking mediocre/ordinary.
I read that Tarver wants to do it again, **** off Toney T, **** off, go fight someone else, anyone else besides Johnson and Jones...it is time to take the next step, I cant imagine paying for a fourth fight, cant ****ing imagine it!
Too bad Jones had me thinking he really wanted this fight, I didnt know a win in Roy's eyes was simply going 12 rounds.
Does anyone else feel a little bit ****ed by this weekends overhyped ****? (overall what a horrid weekend of boxing!)
jack_the_rippuh 10-03-2005, 10:24 AM m hppy i ddnt by tht sht.
DiegoFuego 10-03-2005, 10:27 AM Roy Jones is a disgrace. You don't go out like that. You either knock out the guy that ruined your career and your legacy or you GET knocked out, trying. Jones played a game of survival. Too bad his legacy won't survive this one.
AT made a comment about him, jones and GJ fighting each other several more times and i LMAO... nobody is going to pay for them to keep fighting each other... the last 3 fights have been BORING....
jack_the_rippuh 10-03-2005, 10:29 AM In my opinion, if he never went to fight Glen Johnson things wouldn't look so bad for him...even if he loss to Tarver twice.
In the future, instead of just saying Tarver had the perfect style to give him trouble, alot of people are going to say anyone who pressures good can beat him, just like how alot of people say anyone who can box decently can beat Trinidad.

Which are both true statements. Roy himself said he couldn't beat guys like Tarver and Johnson. He said it himself after the fight. His legacy is shattered.

Oh! How the mighty has fallen. But still, there will still be some legacy left to him. Although you don't rank it in the "all time great" list, still a decent legacy.

I think most people knew it was gonna be a bit of a stink fest before hand. It was just the last showing of the Roy Jones Junior carnival.
Put it behind you scap, and look forward to this weekends Corrales vs Castillo II - !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TheEvilSaint 10-03-2005, 11:35 AM amen to that, brother.
the Tarver/Jones III ppv was the biggest waste of a perfectly good $49.95.

I went into the fantasy betting thread just now, and put 50 million on Corrales to win by UD.
I don't wanna sound like (a dick) but I can't remember the last time I got a bet wrong. I think I'm either the luckiest bastard in the world or I really DOOO know what I'm talking about!
Remember Corrales vs Casamayor 1 & 2 ... How in the 2nd fight Corrales didn't get invovled and won on points. I'm expecting to see this happen again, BUT There will be many exciting moments inbetween.
I just think the smart boxer usualy wins in the rematches, and Corrales is smarter than Castillo.

I sure as hell hope your wrong!
Im a Castillo guy and I think Diego is in big trouble if he thinks he is going to try and outbox Castillo!
If you remember it was Corrales who hung on by the hairs of his chinny chin chin against Casamyor iun the rematch, if he fights Castillo the same way he will be in big trouble.
Corrales has a pretty good beard when he knows where the shots are coming from but when he fights at a distance that is when he in vulnerable to be knocked down, we saw it against Floyd, we saw it against Casamayor and we saw it in the 10th against Castillo...
Im telling you now that if Diego fights an outside fight he is in trouble, he can mix it up a bit but he needs to bang again and hope his amazing punching power is the difference not his boxing ability.
Keep in mind Castillo hung with Floyd in a boxing match, Diego was humiliated, keep in mind that Acelino Freitas boxed Diego's ears off until his legs gave way...Diego is not this great boxer that people make him out to be...he is puncher like no other and if he wins on Saturday it will be his awesome power that does the trick.

Well I think we can forget about that Mayweather fight now... Reason being - Joe Goosen has done wonders with Corrales since them two paired up.
I just think that Joe Goosen will have another trick up his sleave for this fight too.
I'm not terribly confident that Corrales is gonna win this fight... I'm just swaying towards him based on what I've seen him do before, and what other fighters like him going into rematches have done before.
I reckon the picks on this fight will be 50/50.

Your absolutely right its 50-50 and as a Castillo fan Im nervous as hell and its only monday!
hectari 10-03-2005, 12:42 PM What sickens me is how Roy when he commentates great fights! he always compares himself saying he and manny pacquiao are both warriors or he and gatti both got that warrior mentality and wanting to fight the best hahaahah it makes me laugh why does he put himself in a category with guys who have way more heart and balls?
