View Full Version : Julio Jr marquez_1010 09-30-2005, 11:11 AM So you think Julio Caesar Chavez Jr. will be better then his father was? marquez_1010 09-30-2005, 11:13 AM I think he will be better because he will learn from his fathers mistakes and does not have to the take the long hard road his father did!!!!!!! SnoopySmurf 09-30-2005, 12:52 PM He's already famous even though he's still kinda new. He is a deceptively tough fighter with a good punch, despite his innocent scared looks about him. :) He still has more fighting to do before he takes on the bigger names. Experience is the best teacher, they say. .::|ULTIMATE|::. 09-30-2005, 01:13 PM I doubt it, His dad is a legend and normally sons have a hard time filling their father's shoes. He does have good stuff going for him though, He is tough (the guy he fought last time kept headbutting him), He has good power, he is tall, he is young and dedicated. I think he will at least be champ. puppy_dogg 09-30-2005, 01:16 PM i agree that he could be a champion one day, in the distant future of course. but i seriously doubt he will ever reach the stature of his father. his dad is a legend for gods sake, how do you top that :D barryboy 09-30-2005, 02:01 PM The kid has a cool head on him I think cos he's got a lot of pressure on him to perform well just because of his name, his dad is one of the best ever so that's a tall order for anyone to live up to but as for being a champion, well he does look good, just a bigger, skinnier version of Sr really, he moves the same and throws punches the same way so that's a good start! Plus don't forget Sr fought 40 odd times before going for a title so I can see them doing something similar with the boy though probably not as much as that, anyway he looks a great prospect for the future (The baby faced assassin would be a more suitable nickname for this guy than Barrera these days!) KidBlackie 09-30-2005, 03:02 PM Junior is a milk fed puppy. He's all promotion and no fight right now. When he's put up against another young prospect or experienced journeyman who ain't shot yet we'll know where he's at. At 140, he's in a hungry division with fighters drooling over seeing him in the ring. puppy_dogg 09-30-2005, 03:08 PM he's still a brand new pro, blackie. he's basicly still in boxing school right now, give him his due time. even the great one's had to start somewhere... manila_assasin 09-30-2005, 03:22 PM i agree that he could be a champion one day, in the distant future of course. but i seriously doubt he will ever reach the stature of his father. his dad is a legend for gods sake, how do you top that :D By maintaining his undefeated record and gathering all titles in his weight class and holding them for a long time ala B-hop. Agave 09-30-2005, 05:53 PM I think he will be a great fighter but not a Legend like his dad! Chavez Sr fought to come out of poverty and Junior does not know anything about that! trinidadpr87 10-10-2005, 06:41 PM NO,not even close. TacoMuerte 10-11-2005, 03:53 AM So you think Julio Caesar Chavez Jr. will be better then his father was? Lmfao No...He won't even come close, You can't see a hint of the power his father head in him, or the skills his father had.. Padilla 10-11-2005, 08:47 PM I don't think he'll come close to the stature of his father. But thats nothing to be ashamed of thats a big mountain to climb. |
