View Full Version : Which boxer has the most deluded fans?
!! Anorak 12-20-2004, 05:41 PM One thing you don't really seem to see are fans of Evander Holyfield. Sure, he has his admirers, but does he have love? I can't remember seeing someone on here saying he should fight on.
Yet Scrap always attracts a deeper feeling, it seems. I've even seen a generally sensible member of this forum (I won't shame them, they know who they are) claim they think he could still unify.
Whether Tyson's knee blew or not against Williams (and if his knee DID blow, doesn't that tell you something??) the guy is fifteen years past his prime. He's still got a punch, but even on a good day (and 2004's Tyson was better than the one that faced Lewis) he can't go for two and a half rounds without getting out of breath.
For me, I'm currently deluded over RJJ - I'd love him to come back. But for those who think Tyson hasn't been washed up ever since he went to jail (and won back the title by beating Frank Bruno, of all people!) then I'm attaching a poll.
Lefthookhappy19 12-20-2004, 05:44 PM Tysons fans and then daylight. Then maybe the Klit brothers and Toneys fans who believe he even stands a chance against a big heavyweight.
reebox8225 12-20-2004, 05:45 PM ODLH I hate is fans.
Ivansmamma 12-20-2004, 06:13 PM I think Mike would take out Brewster and Ruiz.

That's easy, Golota fans! :)
They are insane, I love it
With there Poland flags, painted faces, Polska wear
Nothing more insane then sitting in a crowd of Golota fans at a Golota fight.
trephination 12-21-2004, 12:21 PM Tyson Fans Easily Are the most deluded. I know cuz i'm one of them.

Golota is an underachieving bum, if he had his **** together who knows what he could have done
Yup Tyson fans are ****ed in the head....Like the man above me said, I know because I am one of them. There is not a fighter on the planet I will root for more than Mighty Mike. I agree with someone above...he stands a decent shot at beating Johnny Ruiz...although if Ruiz could turn the fight into a hold fest similiar to what Botha did against Tyson mike would be through...he still is as good as any fighter in the first round...I would love to see that first round against Ruiz!
Boxer2005 12-21-2004, 01:53 PM Ruiz would get a beating worse than what he got from Tua.
WinkyFan 12-21-2004, 02:06 PM I'd say Fernando Vargas fans are deluded. I hope Winky fights him again.
Peace...........
Neuraxis 12-21-2004, 02:09 PM From the looks of this poll, Tyson fans are really deluded.
The poll is kind of ****ed up...I didn't vote but I am a Tyson die hard...the first question in the poll is could Tyson win back a piece of the title...I think the answer is yes...he has a shot at stopping Ruiz early, thats about it but its not a bad long shot.
As for him unifying which is a completely seperate questions wrapped into the same poll, hell no-Mike can't unify-thats unrealistic, but he could beat Ruiz thats realistic.
Golota is an underachieving bum, if he had his **** together who knows what he could have done
wow, that's quite mean and harsh.. the man is just talking about fellow fans of his favorite boxer and you lash out and attack that boxer.. he's not trying to say Golota is the best, rather his fans are the craziest.. chill out bro!

freirui 12-21-2004, 10:24 PM hell no,Tyson is the most overrated boxer !
grayfist 12-21-2004, 10:42 PM One minor point: does Ruiz have fans? ;) :)
phallus 12-22-2004, 01:12 AM One minor point: does Ruiz have fans? ;) :)

Saint3605 12-22-2004, 01:46 AM without a doubt, the most deluded fans are fans of Tyson. He loses and we all call him a bum, But we all watch his first fight back and hope this is his comeback.....
miron_lang 12-22-2004, 03:06 AM TYSON...
I know many wont agree but, I think Ruiz will beat Tyson. Tyson is 39 and is so much slower now plus Ruiz' patented 1-2 then hold combo is perfect for Tyson :D . Unless the ref DQ's Ruiz Tyson wont beat Ruiz
wissy 12-22-2004, 04:01 AM Mike should just say he will bite Jonny's nuts off, that should keep the manlover from hugging and allow Mike to unleash his arsenal. :)
jabsRstiff 12-22-2004, 09:23 AM Tyson's....by a mile.
What makes this obvious....is that we are talking about a fighter who peaked in the LATE EIGHTIES.
At least the Klits, Trinidad, Oscar, etc....are CURRENT fighters.

That pretty much sums it up!
Dema Ironfist SteelHammer 12-22-2004, 11:58 AM The Klitschko Fans are msot intelligent and patriotic, I know, I am the one!

....& you have the nut in your mouths to make a strong case.
bpapa420 12-22-2004, 03:41 PM Tyson fans are the most diluted in the world. They will arue relentlessly in p4p matchups and they feel he had no flaws. Most still think he can become a champ again!!
Renegade 12-22-2004, 05:10 PM I think Mike would take out Brewster and Ruiz.
I'm not sure about Ruiz, but I agree on Brewster. The good news is Mike puts butts in the seats, both at the venue and ppv. Let him fight for the WBO belt, if he wins, that brings more attention to the sport. Then if Ruiz beats Byrd, let Mike fight the winner. Even if he loses, which I think he would, he's brought all kinds of folks, and their money, back to boxing, and some of them might stick around to watch "the man who beat the man.." etc. Though granted, this theory didn't work so well with Danny Williams. But like the alchemists say, "Keep on tryin'".
Mr. Ryan 12-22-2004, 06:07 PM One thing you don't really seem to see are fans of Evander Holyfield.
He hasn't deserved a fan this millenium.
THRILLAinmanila 12-22-2004, 07:41 PM Haha. I'm surprised I haven't seen Pacman fans being mentioned here.
Of course here at boxingscene we are trying to police our own ranks. We also hate pure Pac nuthuggers who post and ruin his name more than
building up the fighter's image. We go for the honest-to-goodness, level-headed Pac fans who know their boxing instead for the delusionary fanatical fans who know only to praise Pac to high heavens and nothing more ..Peace
tikal 12-22-2004, 07:57 PM I voted yes cause there aint no legends or great boxers like Ali, Louis, or Foreman in this era of boxing. I need to see Tyson fight couple more times before I totally count him out.

Yup. Except maybe for VK, there doesn't seem to be a heavy with the potential to become undisputed champ right now.

if that happened, it would be the second time the manlover got his ass beat by a middleweight :D
Hurlex 12-23-2004, 12:02 AM it is scary though...200+ puerto rican under ur bed...u dont know if he's gonna rob you or do you...screw that i rather take my chances with Freddy Kruger before ruiz...on and yes f**k ruix lol
Klitschko=chicken 12-23-2004, 12:06 AM It would have to be the Derrick Gainer fans.
I've never seen or heard of one but they would have to be the most dillusional without a dispute.
On a larger scale, it's a close race between the Tyson, Jones, Wlad, and Tito fans.
These fans are completely dillusional (not that I'm not) and overrate these fighters to the most sickening extremes.

the scariest thing ruiz could do to me is give me a big hairy hug... on second thought, you're right Hurlex, that is ****ing scary

You're patriotic but not your idol...look where he is now...yeah, in the US of A...trying to try his luck in the market economy! :D
