I'm wearing two pairs of socks and my feet are still ice. I cant even finish a cigarette its so cold. Bombardier 12-20-2004, 03:23 PM I normally like the cold...I live near a student area and it keeps the drunks off the street late at night, not to mention the high school kids (who are often equally drunk or at least equally annoying). But -43? Damn... m00ks 12-20-2004, 03:35 PM I normally like the cold...I live near a student area and it keeps the drunks off the street late at night, not to mention the high school kids (who are often equally drunk or at least equally annoying). But -43? Damn... That's too much. I could barely support a ten minute walk. I can'thelp to think of all the homeless downtown. This **** is deadly. Frosbite for sure :( Bombardier 12-20-2004, 03:38 PM That's too much. I could barely support a ten minute walk. I can'thelp to think of all the homeless downtown. This **** is deadly. Frosbite for sure :( I remember some of the homesless guys in Montreal from my time there. There was one really frail guy with long white hair who never looked too good. At least they more or less tolerate them sleeping in the ATM spots there. Plus the 24hr Tim's near Concordia always let guys chill there overnight when it was cold. I heard that the kicked spoonman away from Ogilvy's! Criminal! Boxerdog 12-20-2004, 03:38 PM Poor old vb martin in Hawaii! I heard that it is 90 there............86 when you add in the wind-chill factor! slickhook 12-20-2004, 03:40 PM I hate the cold it make me old i start to shake and rattle keeping warm is a battle I want to be in Vegas not just for the fights but for those nace and warm clear nights m00ks 12-20-2004, 03:48 PM I remember some of the homesless guys in Montreal from my time there. Specially during christmas time The long white hair dude is still there. Guy has bags for shoes. Really sad. Theres also this blind woman who plays the flute and has a dog. Don't know if youve seen her but shes been there for a while. Tragedy... Mr. Ryan 12-20-2004, 04:50 PM Anyone else freeze on their way to work this morning? Thats not fun either. the undertaker 12-20-2004, 05:13 PM It's the most uncomfortable thing imaginable, save for a catheder. Thats not fun either. you mean catheter? the used to drain urine? but that is used when you are in the hospital or if you are incontinent. i mean if you can't control your urge to urinate. :D Mr. Ryan 12-20-2004, 05:14 PM you mean catheter? the used to drain urine? but that is used when you are in the hospital or if you are incontinent. i mean if you can't control your urge to urinate. :D When I had an adverse reaction to weed I smoked laced with coke, they drained my liver with one of those. It was very uncomfortable. the undertaker 12-20-2004, 05:20 PM When I had an adverse reaction to weed I smoked laced with coke, they drained my liver with one of those. It was very uncomfortable. you mean they drained your urinary bladder, not your liver. lol..they have to insert it into your urethra, here in the middle east, they will just chop your penis if they found out you smoked laced with coke. lol. Some **** like that. I was just happy to be alive. I have the thread around here somewhere. fist-of-fury 12-20-2004, 08:07 PM It's actually "warmer' here in Winnipeg than Ottawa and Montreal? It's -24 right now, with windchill -37. But gusting wind is 46km/hr! You hold on to a pole with your life when it blows! But I heard it's worse in Alberta, where trees and houses were uprooted. Boxerdog 12-21-2004, 02:24 AM you mean catheter? the used to drain urine? but that is used when you are in the hospital or if you are incontinent. i mean if you can't control your urge to urinate. :D There is also the always fun heart catheter which I had a few months back. They run a tube with a tiny camera in the end up a main artery by your groin all the way into your heart. They take a look at the arteries in your heart for blockages. As as added bonus, you are awake for the whole ordeal! NOT a fun way to spend an afternoon!! phallus 12-21-2004, 02:28 AM you mean catheter? the used to drain urine? but that is used when you are in the hospital or if you are incontinent. i mean if you can't control your urge to urinate. :D there's something worse than that, something half asian_sensation will be experiencing after filling his new aprartment with strange ho's - the swab test. a big q tip is inserted up the tip of your penis, in the hole to get a culture of all the bacteria inside there. i know someone who experienced this firsthand. ouch bigdaddy 12-21-2004, 09:12 AM Hope you guys warm up a little. I guess single digits would be like jockstrap and bikini weather to you folks way up North. Bombardier 12-21-2004, 09:17 AM Today it's 20 below. Practially tropical compared to yesterday. Can't believe my car's started no problem throughout all this. Actually, I can believe it, because I got a Toyota. How come relatively balmy Japan can crank out better winter cars than frigid Detroit? bigdlb12 12-21-2004, 10:13 AM 54 in dallas right now, high of 65, nice huh? http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/USTX0327.html Bombardier 12-21-2004, 10:18 AM Spoon man was the best! Don't know if youve seen her but shes been there for a while. Tragedy... Yeah, I remember the bags for shoes. Man, that's rough. Don't remember the blind lady, though maybe I saw her and didn't know she was blind. I remember this other dude who always walked into the coffee shops and hung out outside the movie theaters and asked for metro tickets. Dude has this real convincing way of sounding like it was a matter of life or death. I always used to share some Starburst with him when I saw him at Cafe Depot (Starburst and Cafe Depot coffee being pretty much everything I consumed during exam time). Sad stuff. Montreal at least treats their homeless better than a lot of places, though that's little comfort, I understand. SonnyG8R 12-21-2004, 06:00 PM It got down to about 2 degrees here in New Hampshire. The wind is the worst part though. I live near Mount Washington where the highest wind speed ever recorded, 231 mph, were taken. How come relatively balmy Japan can crank out better winter cars than frigid Detroit? i believe it. japanese cars are tough. i've seen a demonstration of how tough a toyota pickup is, i don't care what anyone says, they're the toughest trucks in the world. why do you think everytime a rebel / paramilitary / terrorist group is shown on the news, they're all piled into a toyota 4x4. i have seen personally a 1986 toyota 4x4 driven hard, then put into the ocean and pounded by the waves until the windshield popped out, set on fire, hit with wrecking ball, driven through a building, and finally placed on top of 240 ft tall building that was then blown up, and not only was the truck still recognizable, IT STILL RAN after all that. next time i'm buying a toyota Bombardier 12-22-2004, 03:51 PM i believe it. japanese cars are tough. i've seen a demonstration of how tough a toyota pickup is, i don't care what anyone says, they're the toughest trucks in the world. why do you think everytime a rebel / paramilitary / terrorist group is shown on the news, they're all piled into a toyota 4x4. i have seen personally a 1986 toyota 4x4 driven hard, then put into the ocean and pounded by the waves until the windshield popped out, set on fire, hit with wrecking ball, driven through a building, and finally placed on top of 240 ft tall building that was then blown up, and not only was the truck still recognizable, IT STILL RAN after all that. next time i'm buying a toyota We got an 8 year-old tiny Tercel and it's never not started. On really cold nights I go out and start the engine for like 10 minutes to warm it up a bit before I have to use it in the morning. Even in -30 to -40 degree weather this is all I've had to do to get it going. And I park in a wide open apartment parking lot, where the wind and snow can get at it non-stop. PBDS 12-22-2004, 04:22 PM 75 degrees in Florida right now!!! Sorry guys |
