View Full Version : Pacquiao-Marquez Bout in Taguig?
Rick Reeno 12-19-2004, 08:07 PM Buoyed by the resounding success of Yanig sa Taguig in which Ring Magazine featherweight champion Manny Pacquiao scored a fourth-round knockout of International Boxing Federation no. 6-ranked featherweight Fahsan 3K Battery, the supporters of the mega-event are exploring the possibility of staging the Feb. 26 rematch with World Boxing Association/IBF champion Juan Manuel Marquez at the same venue in the
Philippines. [details (http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=425)]
julDilla 12-19-2004, 08:16 PM nah that fight aint being held in the phillipines, i highly doubt that, about theMorales fight has it been confirmed or is it just mirad running his lies? is there anywhere where i can read that it is confirmed, i hope the fight is held at reeno, is closer than las vegas for me and i can surely make that trip :D
they are setting up Manny for a Fall he should just concerate on Marquez how the hell can they mention Morales as his next fight this will onl spur on Marquez who must be thinking they have a cheek thinking about Morales when he has unfinished business. So dor Marquez get the Morales fight if he beats Manny, doubt it as Top Rank knows he could well beat Morales
psychopath 12-21-2004, 09:26 AM Nah . . . nah . . . that fight won't happen in the Philippines. That article is just another ploy by Murad so he can get the sympathy of the people . . . to influence them to root for his renewal as promoter. Do really think Arum and HBO will agree? :D
Even that Morales fight. Manny doesn't want to discuss or talk of that possible Morales tussle but it is Murad who keeps bringing it out to the press.
Goddam Murad is just deperate. In fact I got the news from PACLAND that indeed he is being DROPPED by pACQUIAO after the JMM fight. For your info . . . his contract will expire on Feb.
.::|ULTIMATE|::. 12-21-2004, 02:49 PM Las Vegas is where the Money is at and thats where it will be held. I'm sure Marquez would like to fight in Mexico as well.

It would have to be INCREDIBLY RIGHT almost a robbery type right. This fight will most certainly be PPV and some of the PPV buys money will be going to Marquez. Trust me Vegas is where the money is at. No one is gonna buy the PPV's if its at 6 AM in the morning except hardcore boxing fans like ourselves..
Chups 12-21-2004, 11:43 PM Taguig?? Highly unlikely!!
grayfist 12-22-2004, 12:47 AM The cost of staging the fight in the Philippines could run up to two hundred million pesos, a lot of money that is better spent on the rehabilitation of typhoon victims in the island of Luzon.
QueenCity 12-22-2004, 01:47 AM they could fight in Beirut for all I care, just make sure this rematch gets done.

It's all wishful thinking. Even the richest of the rich in the Philippines can't afford to (or won't dare) finance a mega fight of this scale. The US of A is realistically the only place on earth with the BIG MONEY for a fight THIS BIG, nowhere else. Any other location, will offer only loose change!
THRILLAinmanila 12-23-2004, 12:16 AM I'm betting this fight is going to happen in the US,
most probably in Vegas, though the Pac camp doesn't
want to. The Phils. will be a long shot due to the
tremendous amount of pesos needed to satisfy both
parties. But if there's a group who can put up those
big numbers, it would have to be the same group who
made the Pac-Fahsan fight possible.
PLTD/Smart is one of the biggest companies in the Phils.
and if they're willing to shell out the amount needed,
they have it in their coffers.
itsbusdriver 12-23-2004, 12:30 AM this fight is gonna be held in LV
