Does anyone see a upset happening. I cant really see Gatti blowing anyone away. He landed a great punch against Dorin but I think if that didnt happened then the fight wouldve been close. Leija is tough, but Gatti should pull it out. Floyd will be very nervous. Leija might shock him or it could be a action packed Gatti-Ward type fight that people might want to see a rematch. I know Floyd will be pissed if he had to wait longer. I also wouldnt be suprised to see Gatti have a injury and would have to take alot of time off which would also kill Floyd

I definitely can see Leija winning this fight and it won't be an upset to me.

Gatti by late round TKO, at least that is how I see it - regardless, it's going to be a good fight.

If both fighters are able to avoid cuts and injuries during the course of this fight,I think Gattis power will be too much against Leija.

there seems to be a trend lately that everyones down on gatti. let me say i think gatti is a great fighter and if he'd have used the style he uses now earlier on in his career he would'nt have some of the losses he has on his record. leija was a good fighter in his day but beating the human pillsbury dough boy makes people think he can beat gatti, well he won't. gatti will stop him in around six.

You act like Gatti's been beating great fighters with his new style. He shouldve lost to Branco and he had to have a trilogy with Ward. I dont call that improving with his new style. He tries that **** with a top guy and he will get dominated

This fight will end on cuts. Leija has paper thin skin....Gatti hits hard....Leija has a tendency to get hit, more so than Gatti. All this equals TKO, on cuts, most likely after about 6 rounds. Winner Gatti.

They BOTH have paper thin skin.

Gatti's isn't nearly as bad Leija. Leija bleeds if a slight breeze run across his face. That and Gatti more often than not cuts below the eye...much safer.

i cant understand why gatti would want to fight a still dangerous leija as a tuneup for a money fight with mayweather. it could be another war. and how many wars can a guy take? gatti should win.

I can appreciate a nasty body shot as much as anyone... but still I hope this fight will be more entertaining than the Dorin/Gatti fight turned out to be. From what I've heard of Gatti he sounds like he will come out guns a blazin' and try and overpower Leija. Since Jesse James is usully a pretty game fighter, I think this will be a classic Gatti slugfest untill Arturo puts him away in the middle to late rounds.

Ricky Hatton would totally maul Leija at this stage in his career. Leija would never be able to keep him off him.

1-gatti is the wbc champ
2-dont trash him...god no one ever gives him a chance btu gives a exciting match everytime and wins
3-gattis heart, stamina, chin, and streght will always give him a great shot at beating anyone from cotto to KT..so it would be wrong and a big mistake to cut out gatti cuz he's a true warrior that can come back to beat you at anytime

I said BEAT a top 10 lightwelter. Not that he isn't one. Tszyu, Floyd, and Harris are above him. I also think Hatton, Cotto and possibly Mitchell would beat him.

Gatti hasn`t beaten a top ten light welterweight ( in fact he has only won one fight where the opponent was world class above 130lbs, this was Dorin ). Gatti should be Jesse James but what kind of big win is it? Mayweather would beat Gatti, Tsysu would be the better fight for Gatti as Tsysu`s chin isn`t that great. But Gatti is a good light welter, he just isn`t world class!

Please watch Tszyu vs Phillips and then tell me that Tszyu has a bad chin. He took some total bombs that night was finally stopped on his feet. Seriously, watch the fight. Tszyu has a wide stance and is always prepared for anything coming his way.

I see this as an easy Gatti win. From the Bojado fight JJL had, I really don't see how JJL will have any chance vs Gatti. When I watch some of Gatti's fights, mainly him vs Ward, I wonder, how the hell can anyone, I don't care how great your chin is, stand up to the power shots he throws? Full body weight in every punch, turning them in, throwing so many that they break through your defense and get in. It just amazed me how well Ward was able to take it. I don't see the average fighter being able to withstand all that. JJL I know won't be able to.

You're right. I could easily see this becoming the bloodiest fight in the history of boxing. Both are prone to cutting.

I love Leija, and I think in his fights with Camacho, Jr. and with Bojado he proved he still has what it takes to remain viable in boxing, but I don't think he's still viable at the championship level.

As for Gatti, I think having Ward in his camp is going to help to become more complete. If you glued the 2 of them together, you could make the greatest, toughest heavyweight ever;)

Just watch the Delahoya fight. Gatti's offense looks magnificient because Ward was right there to be hit. If a boxer gets his offense in and then moves out, he can easily beat Gatti.
Gatti's KO percentage is at around 76% which is good, but not great considering his fought against a fair share of B class fighters. His power looks tremendous because of the leverage and rotation he puts into it, but Ivan Robinson took a fair amount of leather in his two fights with Gatti and it didn't seem to phase him too much. I see many fighters in the division beating Gatti. JJL may not be one of em as he is old and not exactly in his prime, but i can see this fight being a close scrap.

Why is Gatti wasting time fighting Leija? He should challenge Tzsyu who made Leija quit in the 6th round.

You know what, your right. Why watch a couple of guys that will never be "champ", or at least the "real" champ. Ya know, I don't even know why they are televising this. A complete waste of time IMO.

Get real. This is a good fight, better than most "championship fights". This is a fight for the true boxing fans, not the nuthuggers. Anyone who knows anything about boxing understands this will be a good fight.

Leija? He held titles at Super feather, and Lightweight. I think he held a not so important jr welter title, not entirely sure.

Gatti? Lightweight, and at jr Welter.

Ok, his most important title was the WBC at Super Feather. He won it from Azuma Nelson. He has had a few other alphabet titles throughout Superfeather and lightweight.
