Who's single Sunday Punch was the pound for pound most devastating weapon in boxing history? Robinson's left hook? Foreman's right uppercut? Hearns' straight right? Those were the first three that jumped to mind, but I'm curious.

julian jackson hit guys like he had rocks for gloves
i've never seen a harder puncher p4p

there have been plenty of men who, with craft, have produced a more effective offensive game, but i've never seen a harder hitter.

i'd have to say that robinson's hook is the most potent/effective offensive weapon of the given fighters (solid picks)
he was the most well rounded of the three men, and could take a great shot if he boned one of his hooks (bound to happen against top tier comp with the hook)

I am a GIGANTIC Bobby Foster fan, i have a few things autographed by him. But Bob Foster has a top 5 left hook of all time. I think i would put only Frazier and SRR above him. But the way Robinson took out Rock Jawed Fullmer going backwards. He just straight out flattened him. Count to 20 if you want ref.

Good mention though.

The SRR hook against Fullmer was one of those moments when you think what's the point in continuing watching boxing I'm never going to see anything that good again!
The Rocks ko of Walcott in their 1st fight had a savage beauty to it too

I love that right to the body by Jones that stopped Hill, just a perfectly placed and brutal power shot!

There is a good number of names I could throw in here but honestly Bob Foster's lethal left hook is my favorite to watch.

Hearns right hand just scares me when I watch them old videos. I vote him.

But just for the hell of it I'd throw end whatever punch Tyson finished you with haha. Any single punch that he had.

Julian Jackson seemed to hit so hard that he would knock opponents out while on their feet. Marciano's right to Walcott's jaw did the same thing. I have to give a mention to Thomas Hearns right hand as well as Joe Louis.

I know it's more recent history but I was in love with Tito's left hook in the 90's and early 00's.

The showcase of left hooks in the Vargas fight were spine chilling.

Te best one punch I've ever seen was Danny "Little Red" Lopez's right cross. He could turn your lights out in an instant with it.

I have to give credit to you Scott for making me aware of that. Lopez could truly turn a fight around at any given moment with that right hand.

Perhaps it's not the greatest of all time but Holmes jab deserves a mention.

I'd say Hearns right hand is the punch that comes to mind for me but I must admit that might be because I have watched so many of his fights.

you named them already to me, SRR left hook and Hearns straight right.

Ill also throw in Jackson's right hook and Cuevas' left hook. one had almighty KO power, the other had bone crushing brutality.

Got to love Louis' straight right too.....the punch would travel 6 inches and knock guys cold.

Id go with the srr left hook.

not only does it do what its ment to do but srr immediately has his right at his jaw and brings his foot back to proper stance almost at the same time hes throwing the hook.

Actually, McClellan's left hook to the body may have been as deadly as his booming right to the head. Fighters would duck under his massive right and leave their side exposed.....Gerald would slam that beast of a hook down there and drop 'em.

SRR left hook and Joe Louis right are the ones IMO.

But other would be Mickey Wards left to the body, Razor Ruddock's upper cuts, Arguello's right hand and the ones already mentioned on the thread

The thing about Louis' right is that while you might be able to find a small handful with more p4p power (Julian Jackson comes to mind), the combination of accuracy, timing, placement, speed, and explosiveness of Louis' right were unmatched. And his left hook wasn't too shabby either.

Tyson Fury's uppercut to his chin.

I dont expect Fury to accomplish much even in today's sorry excuse for a division but even if he Unifies the belts, dominates for 15 years and gets into the HOF, he will ALWAYS be the guy who uppercutted himself in the face to me!

WW hearns looked like a LHW

and MW hearns looked like a cruiserweight. unbelievable size on that man.

what a right hand that was. he just crumbled

good body punches from hearns too in that fight
the left hook to the liver set him up for that right hand
his hands were dropping just a touch

The thread was supposed to be who had and what was the most devastating punch but there are responses like Holmes' jab here so i take it its kinda changed to best punch. With that in mid im gonna give Juan Manuel Marquez a mention for his uppercut (pick a hand) as he continuously finds a home for it at all sorts of ranges and he can lead with it, throw it in combination and to either body or head. Its a damn hard shot too, ask Juan Diaz...

Obviously not quite the Right hand of Tommy Hearns or the left hook of david Tua in terms of power but its a great shot and he's so versatile with it
