View Full Version : Andre Ward IwatchBoxing 12-18-2004, 09:16 PM Wow this guy was impressive 2nd round TKO while showboatin julDilla 12-18-2004, 09:17 PM Wow this guy was impressive 2nd round TKO while showboatin that is impressive vB Martin 12-18-2004, 09:18 PM I really wasn't overly impressed. If you look at the knockdowns, they were both pushes. Ward would have regardless, and likely by KO, but the opponent was a definite wuss. He quit after he got punched in the mouth only 21 punches landed by Ward vB Martin 12-18-2004, 09:23 PM were we watching the same fight? from what I saw he was ready to go on getting his ass handed to him and seemed pissed when the ref stopped the fight. He did want to quit between rounds, though. .::|ULTIMATE|::. 12-18-2004, 09:24 PM it was a ugly fight. vB Martin 12-18-2004, 09:31 PM I don't judge Ward badly on this fight, though. You can't really judge someone making their debut under such a high-powered microscope. BrooklynBomber 12-18-2004, 11:21 PM I wanted to see how this kid deals with pressure. He was pretty good at it. Having your pro debut on HBO is pretty hard. I see some potential in this kid. Good luck to him. simeraksou 12-18-2004, 11:31 PM I wanted to see how this kid deals with pressure. Good luck to him. shoot. i missed the ward-molina fight. :( Nautilus 12-18-2004, 11:33 PM I did not really like it. I hoped he would box more. It was more of a brawl. mic573 12-18-2004, 11:35 PM Not impressive Ward should of calm down a bit but I won't hold it against him. His opponent was one of the worst I have ever seen. Truth 12-19-2004, 12:01 AM The guy he was fighting was a joke so we didn't get to see what Ward can do yet. IwatchBoxing 12-19-2004, 12:15 AM Mighty Mike and Andre Ward both have similar styles...they both box on the outside with str8 jabs both have power..... fun to watch and are very acurate(from what I saw tonight) Tyson_Bit_Holyfields_Ear 12-19-2004, 01:05 AM I'm not that impressed by Ward. I saw him in The Olympics and he was only the best of a bad bunch. MlLkMan 12-19-2004, 01:13 AM I really wasn't overly impressed. If you look at the knockdowns, they were both pushes. Yea , trying to be hard and ****. 152qsqyano03 12-19-2004, 01:13 AM simeraksou, u aint the only 1, i missed it 2, so now i am def investin in a large quantity of empty tapes, im gonna work out my vcr now, im tapin EVERYTHIN, everyfight that comes on, its gettin taped abdiel2k3 12-19-2004, 01:22 AM awful i hope they never debut a nother fighter on hbo that was plain ridiculious but it went along perfectly with their horrible main event looked like a fight card that should have been on friday nite fights horrible fighters horrible nite of boxing these guys didnt perform at all like pros let alone supposed champs abdiel2k3 12-19-2004, 01:25 AM were we watching the same fight? from what I saw he was ready to go on getting his ass handed to him and seemed pissed when the ref stopped the fight. He did want to quit between rounds, though. nah seemed like when the ref asked him if he was ready to continue he complained about his vision or his eye that fool ward was throwen more elbows then punches The Fix 12-19-2004, 03:45 AM the fight was sloppy but ward did show us some flashes of what he could be. at some moments he looked really good but a move down to middle wont hurt vB Martin 12-19-2004, 03:50 AM the fight was sloppy but ward did show us some flashes of what he could be. at some moments he looked really good but a move down to middle wont hurt I think a move to middleweight would make that division even more interesting over the next few years tri4ben2 12-19-2004, 09:54 AM This is why they don't show professional debuts on HBO all the time. Ward looked good at 164. I am not sure if that is a weight class, but he could get down to 160 without much of a problem. When they were not wrestling, Ward showed quick hands and was able to land combinations and get out of the way. I am not sure why the fight was stopped, but Ward was going to win by knockout sooner or later. They were not going to put him in with someone who could beat him. Tha Greatest 12-19-2004, 04:43 PM that's cuz he boxed someone that was huggin him tha whole time just wait till his next fight vB Martin 12-19-2004, 10:16 PM that's cuz he boxed someone that was huggin him tha whole time just wait till his next fight so you think he's ready for Ruiz?;) |
