So I go jogging around 7:30pm like I always do.
Like most of the time, I decide to cycle to the beach so I can jog on the sand, because it's a much tougher workout.

Anyway, on my way back after I'm done, I start riding back home and I'm about to cross the bridge. The bike I was on doesn't have good brakes, so I'm coming down the bridge really fast, and it's like the more down the bridge I get the faster the bike is going (which makes sense). At this point I gotta be going at over 35mph. Now coming down the bridge there is an immediate left turn and it's a really sharp turn. If you don't make this turn you're as good as dead. I make the turn on the bike and there is this curb thing, I end up knicking the curb and I just go flying off the bike. Luckily I land with my hands out, but I really land hard on my right hand. I scrape my palm, and the way I landed caused a my wrist to sprain or something. I take like a break for a minute to check myself before going to the bike. I get to the bike and the front tire is twisted in the shape of an "8"...

It's crazy cuz I barely hit the thing and the bike is messed up. I was going to just leave the bike there, lock it to a pole or something, and pick it up tomorrow in my dad's truck or something, but instead I decide forget it let me just take it. I start carrying it over my back and start walking, but you combine how tired I was from jogging with how I just hurt myself and that idea didn't last that long, so I start rolling it on it's back wheel (holding it up like I'm doing a wheelie)...

Now my house isn't that far from the beach so I know I'm in for quite a walk, and just as I thought it couldn't get any worse it starts pouring....it only lasted for a while, but now I'm sweaty, hurt, wet with rain water, and tired.

I guess I can look on the bright side, because if you would have saw how far I was from the bike after I flew off of it, you'd be amazed that I walked away with no serious injury...but I know I'm going to wake up with quite a back ache

What a day :(

You were not 0wned by the accident. Just by the wheelie technique.

The 35mph was an exaggeration, there was no way I could be going that fast. I think it could have been like 25+, but it felt fast as hell and scary because I couldn't slow down.

Yo Run, I was about to title this thread, "jack_the_rippuh gets 0wned by life."

The wheelie technique was out of desperation ;)

Good to hear you came out of the spill in decent shape. If I were religious I'd tell you it was a "miracle"...or I would say it was God's way of reminding you to repent for your sins :D .

You should get the brakes on that bike fixed if you can, when I was a kid I had a bike with bad brakes and I had all kinds of nasty spills.

Good thing you didn't hit your head. That would have hurt more.

Ask my son....he's broken 4 helmets.
