View Full Version : Fabulous 4 Mr.P 09-18-2005, 02:53 PM I voted for Leonard, but it was close between him and Duran. KidBlackie 09-18-2005, 10:34 PM It's Duran, Hearns, Hagler, Leonard in that order. The last three are close, but Duran is clearly a class above the rest. shortright 09-18-2005, 11:27 PM Duran and then leanord, hagler ,hearns jack_the_rippuh 09-19-2005, 10:28 AM Leonard got my vote. Of course I'm biased since he's my uncle and all. RAESAAD 09-19-2005, 10:32 AM I went with Leonard followed closely by Duran even though I personally have been a bigger fan of Hagler since I was originally from the Boston area he was the first fighter who I can even remember hearing about. :boxing: trinidadpr87 09-19-2005, 06:47 PM p4p i'm going with Hagler. He already beat Hearns,Duran and Leonard. MexicanBoxer 09-20-2005, 12:18 AM P4P ITS Duran salsanchezfan 09-20-2005, 02:52 PM Depends how you structure these rankings.....is it in terms of head-to-head, or the best overall career fighter? If it's head-to-head, gotta go with Leonard. But the best career fighter was Duran, who suffers when considered in head-to-head matches. He had a whole career (and a legendary one) before these other guys even made a name for themselves. McGoorty 08-07-2011, 06:00 AM I voted for Leonard, but it was close between him and Duran. I agree, Leonard was ahead, but not by much, if he had Robinsons power he'd have been incredible. SCtrojansbaby 08-07-2011, 06:09 AM Its a clear 1.Leonard 2.Duran 3.Hagler 4.Hearns McGoorty 08-07-2011, 06:12 AM p4p i'm going with Hagler. He already beat Hearns,Duran and Leonard. He beat Leonard ????? Barnburner 08-07-2011, 08:39 AM He beat Leonard ????? YES. :crying: 1. Duran 2. Leonard 3. Hagler 4. Hearns That's how I have it. The difference between Duran and Leonard is pretty much longelivity but, it is close. Hagler isn't exactly trailing behind Leonard either though. Hagler's dominance about matches Hearns's achievements so I go by the result of their fight as a tie breaker and Hagler takes it. The Surgeon 08-07-2011, 08:51 AM Its tough to split Duran and SRL p4p but those to top Hearns and Hagler for me young_robbed 08-07-2011, 03:16 PM Hagler beat all 3 of them so he has to rank higher... and Plus, he has a more impressive resume and abilities in my opinion.. fitefanSHO 08-07-2011, 03:19 PM P4P it's Sugar Ray. He beat the other three. ghns1133 08-07-2011, 04:12 PM Dooran Dooran!!!!! NChristo 08-07-2011, 04:44 PM The best p4p out of them was in order: Duran Leonard Hagler Hearns Imo P4P it's Sugar Ray. He beat the other three. He also lost to 2 of them (The 2nd Hearn's 'draw' is nonsense) and arguably lost to Hagler, where as Hagler also beat Hearns and Duran more decisively and didn't take any losses. :dunno:. TBear 08-07-2011, 05:09 PM Apparently it is not common knowledge but when the phrase "Fab Four" was first conceived by Ring Magazine in 79 thru the early 80's it was used to describe Leonard, Duran, Hearns and Benitez. And that was who fans thought of when the phrase was used. It was not til after the welters invaded the middleweight ranks that Hagler replaced Benitez. Miburo 08-07-2011, 06:52 PM Duran's glory years were before the other three became established champions, he really shouldn't be included in the comparisons just because the media grouped them all together, and came from a much lower weight than the others. Forza 08-07-2011, 06:54 PM Leonard has wins over all of them (even though vs hagler at least should have been a draw) duran lost to all of them........only 1 win against a stubborn leonard that tried to brawl instead of dance. 1. Leonard 2. Hagler 3. Hearns. 4. Duran Boxing Bob 08-07-2011, 06:55 PM a case can be made for all 4, IMO its Duran Forza 08-07-2011, 06:57 PM I think hearns deserves more credit for earning titles all the way up to cruiserweight also I would argue SRL was the most naturally gifted out of the bunch. Hagler was the strongest Duran was the meanest hearns hit the hardest New England 08-07-2011, 11:45 PM duran was the best LW ever and is in an equation with a couple of huge WW's and a career MW with maybe the best chin ever yeah duran got my vote McGoorty 08-08-2011, 03:21 AM Hagler beat all 3 of them so he has to rank higher... and Plus, he has a more impressive resume and abilities in my opinion.. I don't think Hagler beat Leonard, some people claim that Hagler annihilated Leonard, but Leonard won on points. I don't see how Hagler could have won without at least a knockdown. This fight was at best for Hagler a DRAW, Ray was piling up the points every round and I thought Hagler had to KO Ray. It WAS A CLOSE FIGHT and a knockdown would have had a 10-8 round. In my opinion the fight was a draw, and all fights that are as close should always be a draw. Why does there have to be a winner, when there clearly is'nt one, lets go back to 20 round fights, HAGLER would have walked 20 rounds in against Ray ...... This is how I see it. GoogleMe 08-08-2011, 03:38 AM Duran didn't do that much outside of LW... I say Leonard. Barnburner 08-08-2011, 04:35 AM Duran didn't do that much outside of LW... I say Leonard. Apart from beating the person you just said was the best  |
