Ring Magazine featherweight champion Manny Pacquiao is ready to sign his fight contracts for a February 26 rematch with WBA/IBF champion Juan Manuel Marquez and a tentative July 30 showdown with former super featherweight champion Erik “El Terrible” Morales. Pacquiao invited his business manager Rod Nazario to fly to his hometown of General Santos City on the eve of his 26th birthday celebration on December 17 and to bring the agreement along so he could seal the deal negotiated earlier by international promoter Murad Muhammad with HBO Sports. This is really great, if it all goes according to these plans. It is so rare to have the best guys all fighting each other like this. They should throw the Korean guy Chi into the mix too. Havent seen him fight but I've heard he is good.

Nice to hear Pacman is ready to sign but how about JMM, is he ready to sign too?

Sorry to break the ice guys . . . . I just saw the latest from PACLAND. Manny is ready to sign the contract for that JMM rematch but not for the Morales fight. Manny was quoted as saying that he will be signing contracts one by one and as the need arises. It's a smart move by Pac . . . he doesn't want to sign anything that will bind him to Murad. :D

Here's another one . . .in another article "El terrible" shut off the posibility of a fight with Pac. He was also quoted as saying that recent events made him to reconsider his position. He said he'll be moving up to 135 lbs weight class. :cool:

i guess for now i have to be contended that Pac will face JMM on February...

i dont think morales vs pac will happen, according to morales he said hes gonna move up to 135lbs, after the barrera fight he was even sayin his body wasnt feeling right in that fight. i dont think manny will go up 135lbs to fight morales. idoes anyone know what barreras planning to do? is he stayin at 130lbs or goin back to 126lbs??

Yeah I read that one too. Seems Morales is keen on moving up to 135 within next year after a last tune-up fight at 130 sometime May-July. The Pac-Morales fight's chances of happening next year is bleak.

Manny haven't signed the document yet up to this writting because it turned out that Murad placed that JMM and Morales fight in a single document.

Manny wanted that JMM and Morales fights to be in a separate contract which is the normal procedure. Clearly Murad is trying to hang on to his job as Manny's promoter.

good thing manny will make a good decision in putting his business relationship with murad in the closet. i mean, manny's career is going nowhere with murad. what manny needs is a promoter who is as aggressive as he is and who can promote the best fights for the best fighter today, whoelse, PACMAN!!

If Pac decides to drop Murad, I hope he could hook up with Oscar's GBP, IMO that outfit is really moving. News have it that B-Hop and Shane just hooked up with Oscar. Barrera is in there too.;)

Morales is moving up to 135 without fighting Pac? But says he's gonna have one more fight at 130 before moving up? Why not Pac on that last 130 fight? If Pac gets past JMM, a Morales meeting can be set for June or July...There's going to tons of money in that! :confused: If Pac wins vs. JMM there's still not going to be a title on the line if Pac comes in at 128 and Morales at 130. MAB now has Erik's belt.
