They say he is overrated and he isnt.

With the way he made Rua looked amateurish, who do you think can beat Jones in the UFC LW division?

The only guy I see is Machida...yet a very slim chance.

I don't think anybody with a full brain thought he was overrated. He was the favorite. It's just not fair. He's too damn big. Nobody has a chance in hell in beating him.

Just great another Jackson camp champ. Rashad or Page if they could throw 10 feet in the air could maybe drop him but he'll just take them down at will like a typical Jackson camp pansy.

It just went from the most exciting division too the most boring because nobody's going to beat him. It's going to turn into the boxing heavyweight division because he's too big like the sisters.

I didn't think he was overrated at all. I just wanted Shogun to win. Which is why I was reluctant on ordering the show.

I think Rashad and Silva are the only two people who I think can give Jones problems. Not many though.

He makes the weight, so no problem bout it. I just hope the division doesnt end to become a boring one like the WW and MW.

Jones looks unstoppable right now. The division looks wide open until he decides to move up and tangle with the heavy weights.

He won't. Dos Santos and Cain would walk right through him.

I'd love to see Jones beat up Brock though. That would be hilarious.

I like Jones but some of his fans are being silly with the whole "I knew he'd win" and "he proved them wrong" stuff. He was the favourite, not some big underdog or something.

I don't think he's like the other Jackson guys though Nate. He's a top wrestler and does take people down, but he doesn't lay and pray and his main style is striking I'd say.

I agree that he is probably going to dominate for a while, but it might not go that way, and size isn't everything. Paul Williams, Stefan Struve and others have shown that. Not that size doesn't matter because I agree that it does, but I don't see him as unbeatable just yet as there are different styles that he hasn't faced so far.

We are talking about LHW here. But if he gets in HW, I wont say that Dos Santos and Cain would walk right through him.

If he acclimates himself and transitions into a HW comfortably, I think he would be a threat to the big dogs there. It remains to be seen what he does at LHW for now.

People say Jones is too green to fight the caliber of Rua. Didnt he prove them wrong (my question isnt about he is being the favorite)?

Btw, who you think can at least give Jones a good fight?

Jones only has 1 weakness. He can even strike with guys like Shogun, dominate wrestlers and good BJJ guys so that leaves one thing: his bottom game.

Somebody needs to put him in his back. And the only one that can do that and maybe keep him there is Ricardo Arona, and King Mo.

Both matchups could still happen in the future. Arona might be back in UFC Rio, and Mo can be brought to the UFC because of the recent merge with SF.

So yeah, I don't think a great striker or submission specialist is going to do it. It needs to be a great grappler with superb top game. And I mean absolutely superb.

He proved some people wrong, but in every fight there are some people picking one guy and some picking another so it's not like his situation was any different. People said he was too green, but for some fighters they say they're too old, or have no ground game, or no stand up, or a bad chin, or something else. Jones deserves a lot of credit for being so good and doing so well, but all I'm saying is that it's not like Serra beating GSP or something.

I think Machida has a chance against Jones because he's very technical and may be able to take advantage of an opening to land something big. He also has a good ground game so might be able to pull off a submission. But I think recent fights have shown that Machida is not quite as great as he once appeared, and Jones would probably dominate him like he did Rua. Plus Machida tends to go for speed and precision over power, so even if he caught Jones flush is it going to end things? Probably not.

I'm not too sure who at 205 has better wrestling than Jones. Maybe Mo could lay on him for 5 rounds. I certainly expect Rashad to try that approach so we'll see how it works out for him up until he gets knocked out.

And of course Anderson Silva can never be under-estimated, if he moves up.

I agree on Machida giving him problem. Machida can also make us see how patient Jones would be if he cant take down Machida the way he put the others down on the ground easily.

I don't get why people don't want someone to dominate a division. A buddy of mine wanted jones to lose so he wouldn't be a silva or gsp like other ppl here but I like having a true "unbeatable" fight. I think it makes fights more interesting.

Jones did very, very well and really rose to the occasion but there are a few things to note:

He did look remarkably tired after the first round (nervous energy perhaps).

He didn't beat Shogun on the floor with technical wizardry; his length and leverage made it night on impossible for Shogun to work histechnique.

His chin is still untested.

We haven't seen him on his back.

I may be the only one here but I think Phil Davis could be a challenge for him; wrestling skills, striking, BJJ and he's not exactly small either ..

Some of you are downplaying this win, Jones just beat a living legend in Shogun, yall seen the articles. Jon Jones is something special, a new breed of fighter, he is what the boxing world wants a young talented fighter with the ability to take over at mulitple divisions. He just fought 2 fights with-in 2 weeks against top-notch guys, and he beat them both soundly and within 3. Tell me who other then Silva even challenges him, Machida, lol Rampage, to old... Rashad... Yup Rashad 2 young black thoro breads going at it, it spells fight of the year!!!!!

Talk about dick ridin'. And do you even know what strikeforce is? hahaha How is that exciting for the light heavyweight division when that is strikeforce's WORSE division. Dan freakin Henderson's there champ who got held down by welterweight lil jake shields. Other then that whose is there? King MO got exposed and still hasn't even started making his way back up.

He's too damn big and won't be beaten for a long time. It's boring now, the division is no longer competitive unless Phil Davis can do something about it.

Great performance by Jones. I really doubted whether he was ready to be a champ so early in his career.

Anybody else think Jones looked a little tired to ?

Jones did look a little tired, not that it affected the outcome of the fight. Pretty sure it was due to nerves.

But Shogun looked very tired after the first round. He already looked beaten.

Jones is big, but what's most intimidating about him is his talent and athleticism, not his size.

i was kinda iffy on the result of this fight before it happened, didn't think it would be a beatdown. doesn't jones have like the longest reach in the ufc or something? crazy, congrats to him and wish him luck, cant wait to see him vs rashad..
