just saw the film yesterday and even though Crowe thinks boxing is stupid he did well and the film was GREAT.

the visual scenary and the acting were good. I didn't like the movie as much as I probably should have. It irritated me how they protrayed Max Baer. Totally false depiction. They made him out to be like Clubber Lang, when in reality he was a very nice gentleman. He did like the drink abit, but in no way did he ever brag about killing people in the ring. The truth is that the families of the guys he did accidently kill in the ring where taken care of and the kids were sent to college by Baer himself.

hated it, I hated the way they portrayed max baer just to get an audience reaction. Ron howard does that in all of his films in a beautiful mind he portrayed John Nash as a ****ing saint and exaggerated on certain stroylines and situtaions to extract emotional sympathy from the audince. Nash never gave a speech for winning the nobel prize infact no one ever does, the only speech he gave was one at a small dinner inwhich he claims he wish he had been first because he needed the oney because he wanted a credit card.

It is good for someone who doesnt know the truth to the fighters portrayed....I thought it was a pretty **** part on behalf of Ron Howard to depic Baer the way he did. But then again you always need a villain.....It gets a C+ in my book. The best boxing movies ever are Black Cloud and Rocky Marciano, I suggest you check out those films.

i give it a B, my favourites are rocky and raging bull, havent even heard of black cloud.

I love Pesci and De Niro especially together but for some strange reason I just couldnt get into Raging Bull. I plan on buying it and giving it another try but the first time around I couldnt get into it.

Rocky though is great loved them all even 5...The only thing that irritates me about the Rocky series is that they are releasing a 6th one and will release a new boxset with all 6 movies instead of the original 5...So **** on them, plus making Clubber Lang (aka George Foreman) a Commentator in boxing.....We might as well throw Thunderlips in their doing a leg drop all over again....Rocky 6 is destined to flop.

Yeah it was scrapped and then put back and then scrapped again. But ever since the contender was on I think Sly slicked his way into getting some cash laid out for a 6th movie. Clubber Lang will be playing the role of a retired fighter turned commentator.

Black Cloud came out last year, you can find it in a lot of the top 3 video stores or purchase it. I think it only runs $9.99 but you may want to give it a rental or atleast a download.
