View Full Version : The Most Devestating KO Of All Time.
Mr. Violence 12-17-2004, 02:03 AM When some one ask the question," What is the most devestating KO of all time?"...you hear people talk about KO's from Tyson or Hearns or Foreman, etc. etc......But when I am hit with that question...one KO comes to mind that I will NEVER forget. And that was the KO of Tommy "The Duke" Morrison by Merciless Ray Mercer. That was one of the ugliest KO's ever displayed in a boxing ring, I'm very surprised that Tommy Morrison came out of there alive. He looked half dead as the ropes held him up....already unconsciouse he took devestating blow after blow on his chin. It happened so fast that the ref couldnt jump in sooner. An even more disgusting site is watching it in slow motion...truly grotesque. Anyway if you can think of a better KO than that name it.. Peace :D
jayschre 12-17-2004, 02:29 AM I don't really think the ref tried all that hard to jump in there right away, cause Mercer had like 7-8 free shots all powershots unguarded, but definately brutal. I don;t remember Tommy going completely out cold though, I do remember him being completely ****ed however but I didn't think think he went out out.

I watched it from my collection the other day..oh yeah tommy was out..the ref didnt even bother counting because he was just out on the ground then his trainers lifted him up....i dont know what was up with that ref either. even though i like tyson i gotta admit your avatar is freakin hilarious :D
BDBowe 12-17-2004, 02:53 AM yea, bad ko. morrison chin exposed him, and ray just kept on punching. ray was a hellauva boxer
jayschre 12-17-2004, 03:32 AM Right on, I used to have that fight on tape but an old roomate of mine stole it, I appreciate the response and thanks about the av,I never thought Tyson really raped that girl, but that crazy mofo sure doesn't make sense some times so you never know, all we really know for sure is yeah he sure as hell hit it one way or another.
I almost forgot, I think the A. Gatti vs. Joey Gamach(sp.) ko might be another one to add to the list as far as brutal goes I thought for sure that Joey was gonna be brain dead after that fight.
Xecutioner 12-17-2004, 05:16 AM any of hearns' kos :D
my favorite is vs duran, he bent him in half with a right hand.
moochi 12-17-2004, 06:19 AM how about maskaev over rahman?
Mr. Violence 12-17-2004, 03:52 PM any of hearns' kos :D
my favorite is vs duran, he bent him in half with a right hand.
ohh..yeah man that was pretty atrocious..hearns hit him with a straight right and duran fell straight down face first...like in the looney tunes cartoons when one of the cartoons gets konked on the head and falls like a log. good one :D
PRboxingfan 12-17-2004, 03:57 PM Gatti KOs Joey Gamesche, that is the worst I've ever seen.
urdaddyinAZ 12-17-2004, 03:58 PM That African dude that knocked out Jeremy Williams a couple weeks ago was pretty nasty.
Mr. Violence 12-17-2004, 04:02 PM That African dude that knocked out Jeremy Williams a couple weeks ago was pretty nasty.
yes it was. and pulp fiction is the bomb. watched that movie over 20 times in fact just watched the dvd again 2 days ago. peace :D
Boxer2005 12-17-2004, 04:05 PM I like that movie too..
Mr. Violence 12-17-2004, 04:09 PM I like that movie too..
hell yeah....all the twist..the hilarious dialogue...how it all comes together is just genius. the scene that always gets me rolling in laughter is when sam jackson and john travolta accidentilly kill that dude and they bring him to Jimmy's house....the whole situation and the stuff that Jimmy says is freakin hilarious. :D
drag0n_ 12-17-2004, 05:23 PM Not saying it's the most devastating... But Ibeabuchi's monster left uppercut on Byrd should get an honourable mention

.......You could flip that and put one or two of Morrisons knockouts in there as well. His Razor Ruddock KO was wicked!! He knocked Razor out cold and when his head hit the canvas and bounced he woke up. He was completely ****ed from that shot.
John Michael Johnson ( I think that was his name) vs. Augie Sanchez WOW!!!!!!!!!
BDBowe 12-18-2004, 05:07 PM that left hook on razor was pretty bad, though razor got up and fought. the 3 kd rule ended that fight, not to mention it was 2 standing 8 counts. kinda pissed me off,, ruddock should have had that fight
BDBowe 12-18-2004, 05:08 PM John Michael Johnson ( I think that was his name) vs. Augie Sanchez WOW!!!!!!!!!
speaking of, what about michale johnson v. mike tyson? that right hadn was awesome
BDBowe 12-18-2004, 05:08 PM Not saying it's the most devastating... But Ibeabuchi's monster left uppercut on Byrd should get an honourable mention
talk about a monster shot. byrd was arguing with the ref that it wasnt a kd! man ike was aweosome
Tha Greatest 12-18-2004, 05:39 PM Hearns over Duran
that was probably tha nicest KO ever
Priceless
there will never be a knock out like that ever
it wasnt just any ko, it was a knockout with flying colors
talk about a monster shot. byrd was arguing with the ref that it wasnt a kd! man ike was aweosome
......Yeah, the Ibeabuchi shot was great. Byrd drooling out of the side of his mouth and trying to say it wasn't a knockdown. WTF was he thinking? I liken his reaction to Zab Judah's when Kostya knocked him silly.
Here's a few of the most devastating knockouts that I've seen in recent heavyweight history;
Mike Weaver's left hook that knocked 'Big' John Tate out in the 15th round. Tate fell face first after getting hit and he was OUT!
Gerry Cooney's first round knockout of Ken Norton. Cooney knocked Norton unconscious with one of his left hooks, but Kenny's limp body could not fall in the corner and he ended up in a sitting position on one of the bottom ropes...Cooney ripped off another couple of hooks on Norton and yeah, it wasn't pretty.
Razor Ruddock's left hand 'smash' that left Michael Dokes unconscious in the corner for a number of minutes afterwards.
And Ray Mercer's knockout of Tommy Morrison, which has already been mentioned.
Tyson_Bit_Holyfields_Ear 12-18-2004, 07:42 PM Freitas > Alexandrov was pretty sick, Gatti > Gamache too.
Dynamite76 02-09-2006, 04:09 PM Rocky Lockridge's knockout at the hands of Juan LaPorte and Marvin Johnson's knockout at the hands of Michael Spinks.
That was pretty brutal (http://media.putfile.com/maskaev)
deuce_drop 02-09-2006, 04:43 PM John Michael Johnson ( I think that was his name) vs. Augie Sanchez WOW!!!!!!!!!
yeah i was going to say that one and....
julian jackson's one punch KO over Herol Graham, nthat was a big one.
Gatti's KO over Gamache was another huge one, very brutal.
Tua's KO over Ruiz was awesome. that was one of the most wicked shots when Ruiz was out and going down, that last punch, the left hook almost took his head off.
(ever since that fight Ruiz made his career and style all about excessive holding!!!!)
Mike Tyson77 02-09-2006, 04:48 PM Rocky Marciano KO over Jersey Joe Wallcot.
Jack Johnson knocking out Stanly (can't spell last name :D ) teeth was also great.
And Iron Mike Tyson putting Trevor Berbick down three times off one punch for the WBC Belt was sweet.
Hitman932 02-09-2006, 04:49 PM Hearns over Duran
that was probably tha nicest KO ever
Priceless
there will never be a knock out like that ever
it wasnt just any ko, it was a knockout with flying colors
not only that, duran was a legendary fighter with great chin and toughness, if you watch the fight you hear bert sugar saying.....
"Roberto Duran, in 82 professional fights has never been knocked out and only been knocked down twice."
and then about 30 seconds later hearns just lays duran out with a beautiful left-right in the middle of the ring. if duran didnt have such big balls to get up from that he would have spared himself one of the worst Ko's in history
knocking out tommy morrison is one thing, roberto duran is another altogether
deuce_drop 02-09-2006, 04:51 PM also i can't remember who it was that he was fighting, but Chris Eubanks had a KO that was one of the best i've ever seen.
Eubanks got knocked down by some guy and when he got up from the count, the very next punch Eubanks KO'd the guy flatout, it was truely an awesome display of heart and payback. tit for tat.........
i can't remember who it was though, i want to say that it was Watson but I can't say for sure..........
if you get to see it you'll be like god damn that was huge!
Dempsey 1919 02-09-2006, 05:09 PM Rocky Marciano KO over Jersey Joe Wallcot.
Jack Johnson knocking out Stanly (can't spell last name :D ) teeth was also great.
And Iron Mike Tyson putting Trevor Berbick down three times off one punch for the WBC Belt was sweet.
yeah, all three of those were good.
