From the producer of The Apprentice and Survivor comes a new unscripted series that will launch a competitive search for the next boxing superstar. The Contender will follow 16 aspiring boxers from training camp through an evolving series of ring challenges and boxing matches over 16 episodes - with the final victor claiming a million dollar prize. The driving force behind the series will be the pursuit of the American dream and the natural trials, tribulations and heartbreak inherent in that quest combined with the drama and tension of the sweet science. The canvas of the show is much broader than boxing - it will give viewers a first hand look into the real life hopes, triumphs and defeats of the contestants. The Contender will be a joint production of Mark Burnett Productions, DreamWorks Television and Rogue Marble. Stallone , Burnett and Katzenberg are the executive producers. The Contender will trace aspiring boxers from training camp through an evolving series of ring challenges over 16 episodes – and the final victor would claim a chance at becoming a professional prizefighter , and winner of 1 million dollars.

Sounds like good stuff, I'll watch it, but if there is no talent on it, I won't waste my time, unless there is alot of drama..

Frank helped Sylvestor train for Rocky. BTW some people consider Sylvestor a boxer. But it has Sugar Ray Leonard so no-matter what i'm gonna watch it.

The show kinda sucks. They don't show a complete round, how can we, the audience, judge a fight when we can only see a couple of select highlights of each round. Ultimate Fighter blows this out of the water.

I like the show....Especially when they focus on their lives and we get to see what kind of people they are...Manfredo is cool and Kiddour got what was coming to him.. Maybe if he wasnt so arrogant they could have voted him back I believe? Anyways I like the show.. :)
