Steve Collins.

Is it true that you once trained alongside him at the Petronelli's gym back in the 1980's?? What did you think of him?

Do you agree that Steve Collins was the biggest over-achiever in boxing? Were you suprised that he went the distance with McCallum and Eubank? And do you know why Roy Jones wouldn't fight him?

I used to spar Steve all the time back in the 80's He was very tough and awkward and had a lot of heart. I was a little suprised he beat BOTH Benn and Eubank but evern before that he had scored upsets over Tomy Thornton and Kevin Watts. The fight with RJ didnt happen because Steve overpriced himself for Roy and asked for 5 MILLION

I'm not Jones' biggest fan, but I can't see Collins beating any top-class boxer fair and square, he was too limited. I like Collins but it looked as if the guy never even learned how to punch properly! Eubank was robbed at Mill Street and Collins cheated anyway, and we all know that Benn was totally shot-it.

Steve was a formidable opponent but NO WAY does he ever beat Roy Jones. NEVER

Sure, in Roy's prime he was as great and talented as anybody I think. His BEST matched up with most others BEST

Roy at 168 would have probably STOPPED Collins (if by cuts at least).

For what it is worth, I also sparred Mike McCallum back in the 80's. Great fighter. Collins had a lot of desire and desire often leveled off the playing field between good fighters and better fighters.

Yo man i know that you was in camp alot with Ray Leonard and Roy Jones and heard that they done alot of sparring together. Can you tell me what happened in the sparring sessions and who got the better of it?

I never saw Ray and RJ spar with each other and when they did it was when RJ was amateur, NEVER as a pro. Big Roy has a tape of the sparring sessions though and everybody says that RJ did very well, held his own- for what it is worth.
