Mayorga comes off as a tuneup opponent for Cotto going into Cotto's rematch with Margarito. But if Mayorga were to win that fight, it could lead to some other scenarios. Don King would be playing up Mayorga being back, and he'd have some big money attached to him.
So what happens if Mayorga wins, who does he fight next? Then there's Cotto. Would Cotto want a rematch? Would he retire? Or does he just fight someone else?

I truly hope Mayorga isn't considered for Pac if he wins this fight. I don't even want that to take that bollocks seriously. Why not a rematch? Unless Cotto looked like utter **** in the loss, it could happen. If not, it's Mayorga vs Margarito. I fancy that one. Cotto would probably drop down to fight Berto or someone lesser.

If Mayorga beats him, I think Cotto's finished. No rematch, no move back down in weight. Mayorga could only win by KO, and that would be a death knell for Cotto's career if it happened. Mayorga-Margarito is only natural then.

That's why there's no reason for Cotto to retire off of a Mayorga loss. It wouldn't be one of those irreversible defeats. And even if he didn't rematch him right away, just fight a lesser name then fight the winner of Mayorga vs Margarito no matter which one it is.

Who you rootin for in Cotto-Mayo and Mayo-Marg bro?
Marg n Cotto are past it, but Mayo is straight up shot. I want him to beat Cotto and I'd root for him to beat Marg too if it happened. It'd be the **** if Mayo exploded back on the scene and won a couple big fights. Fat chance, but I'm hopin.
Anyway, Cotto has a title, so if he loses I'm sure it'll go to a rematch. I dunno if he got a clause or not, but I'm assumin he does.
