View Full Version : Anyone else get massive dizzy spells for no reason?
Bombardier 09-02-2005, 02:09 PM Sometimes if I move my head the wrong way I get these ****ing horrible dizzy spells, like everything's spinning around. Sort of like when you're massive hung over. It goes away after a few minutes usually but I have to stabilize myself first.
I know if I go to a doctor they'll give me a blood test and then tell me they don't know what's wrong with me. ****ing doctors, that's what they always do. I don't feel like getting a needle jabbed in me so if anyone else know what I'm talking about here please post some info.
btw I don't have any major medical conditions or anything like that. I think it has to do with prior drug use, but that's only my 2-cent diagnosis.

Just go to the doctor bro.
...Bright white overhead lights or quickly looking away from a bright computer screen does it to me sometimes. It only lasts a short while but it's still a bad feeling.
RAESAAD 09-02-2005, 02:12 PM When I was younger and used drugs quite often I used to wake up and as soon as I got out of bed I would like black out for like 30 seconds someone told me it was from jumping up too fast out of bed all hung over but never really had dizziness and have not had the other problem in a few years either , so not too sure has this been going on for a while or just recently?

Yeah, I might anyway, just thought I'd solicit some opinion here. Thing is it's hard to find a good doctor, most of them poke and prod you and then either med you up or shrug their shoulders.
oldgringo 09-02-2005, 02:13 PM I get dizzy when I stand up too fast. I'm 6'2 so I think it has to do with me being tall and not getting blood to my head fast enough.

Yeah, that's exactly it. I didn't have these much until I started working here, and basically all I do all day is stare at a computer screen underneath flourescent lights.
Basically the computer screen and the lights are blinking on and off over and over. So it probably throws off your vision.
Super_Lightweight 09-02-2005, 02:15 PM This sounds like orthostatic hypotension. You might have high blood pressure. You should see a doctor immediately.

They will send you to a specialist if they cant figure it out. If it's that bad just go.
BiggestBoxingFanEver 09-02-2005, 02:16 PM Dude, I'm not trying to freak you out but..... I know of two people recently that went to the doctor for dizziness. One recovered, the other it was too late and he died this summer. Both brain tumors, both younger than 40. It could also be some form of verdigo which they could give you pills for.

Mostly since I start working here, so for maybe a year. I think stress has something to do with it as well, since I did get them a bit when I was looking for work. Also I really dislike my job and I think the stress of that wears on me.

...I'm guessing that's all it is but you never know. Thinking about it to much while it's happening just makes it worse though. I think that somewhere latently I may be vulnerable to having a seizure over funky lighting and moving patterns. I have never had one before but when I start to get a weird feeling like that I just chill out and stop looking at whatever is causing the problem.

They have those Tint screens you can put over your screen to stop the light from being so bright maybe one of those would help.

Yes, that's how it works for me too. If I calm down then it goes away. It's always under certain conditions so that makes me think that it's not one of the other conditions people are describing here. I think it's related to getting migraines, which I hardly ever get but it seems to be similar conditions that produce them.
Thanks for everyone for their advice. Karma coming to those that I can give it to.

I tried that for #1000 and it fizzled. Ah well.
The Troll 09-02-2005, 02:21 PM If you get dizzy from standing up fast. You have bloodpreasure problems. You should take pills for that.
