Martin (Top Knowledge) 09-01-2005, 12:34 PM Nah way man... I don't reckon Haye will KO Hobson in 4.
Hobson ain't a bad fighter at all... A good chance for us to see what Haye's all about.
I've seen people saying that David Haye is one of the most talented fighters to come out of the UK in years... LOL!... I think that's a load of bollox.
I saw Haye get flattened by some African journeyman in something like his 7th fight... His legs had completely gone! Still he managed to survive.
With all due respect to Carl Thompson, I've enjoyed watching him over the years but nowadays he's in his 40's and is a shot fighter. Haye was more worried about wearing his Craig David bandanna than the fight ahead of him. - And I say, if you're an talented up and coming fighter with a proper future ahead of you... You have to be able to steam role through guys like Thompson.
I saw Wayne the other day he has no fights lined another fighter who is pissed off with Warren. This guy is one of the biggest punchers in Engalnd and yet to fight in America

I would like to know who has steamrolled over Carl Thompson, the only guy who has truly whacked him recently is Esra Sellers, thompson is a warrior and I would not have bad word said about him. This guy is the most underpaid fighter in the world but some of it is his own fault I once asked to do an interview for him and he asked how much money would I pay him !!

lolenga mock is a bit better than an african journeyman mate.
it was also a temple shot that had david all over the place, it happens,he regained his composuire and got his man out of there, he whoudl be lauded for such a performance early in his career not slated.
YOu a emiassivkly underating Thompson he beat Rothman who has just challenged for cruiserweight honours the fight befoe.
Carl never had the best fo balance, bvut hwe makes up for it in power and ring smarts.
Ill have ten mill on with you haye beats hobson.
Hobson struggled with bruce scott for crying out loud, Haye is one of the most taltend offensive fighters inthe cvountry guy hits like a heavyweight as hobson will find out.
and no hobsons chin is not better than carl thompsons.

I know Thompson beat Rothman... But Thompson was on the verge of being stopped coz' he was taking too much punishment and BANG! A Wild last attempt haymaker on unsteady feet landed.
I think Thompson was more suprised it landed than even us watching!... LOL!...
With all due respect... I dunno if it's me, but I just don't see what other people are seeing in David Haye.
jesus mate, where do start, fast hands feet, big punch, variety of punches, want me to go on?
he is certinaly far more talented than decent but limitede pro hobson thats for sure. whether he has the heart for it we will find out.

barryboy 09-08-2005, 06:07 PM WOODS: I'M HAPPY WITH TOUGH START
Thursday 8th September 2005
Clinton Woods has admitted Friday night's opponent Julio Gonzalez is a live threat to his IBF light-heavyweight title.
The Sheffield fighter defends his belt for the first time against the Mexican after he destroyed American Rico Hoye to win the vacant title in March.
But the 33-year-old shunned an easier first defence knowing that only going in with the best will get him a big money fight with one of the biggest names in the game.
Woods has doggedly pursued his dreams of world glory in recent years, but came up short in fights with Roy Jones Jnr and Glen Johnson.
However, with Johnson vacating the IBF belt to take on Antonio Tarver, Woods was able to showcase his skills and now feels the time is right to show the world what he can do.
"It's going to be hard but there was never a chance of me trying to fit in an easy first defence," he said. "The IBF is a major world title and there are no easy contenders within the top 10.
"In my opinion, myself and Gonzalez are the two best light-heavyweights in the world, although Antonio Tarver and Roy Jones might dispute that.
"Hopefully the winner of our fight can meet the winner of Tarver-Jones. Me and Gonzalez only have five defeats between us in 75 fights.
The dangerous Gonzalez has only two defeats from 40 fights and rose to prominence by taking Dariusz Michalczewski's WBO title and ending his impressive unbeaten record by split decision.
"I've trained for 12, hard rounds and I can see it being a battle to the end. Gonzalez won't want to take a backward step and neither will I. It's going to be the toughest fight of my career but I believe it's a fight I can win."
And Woods had a final word for super-middleweight Joe Calzaghe, who is considering a move up in weight to challenge the likes of Woods.
"Calzaghe is chasing me rather than me chasing him. It would be an exciting fight if it happened but in Gonzalez, Jones and Tarver I feel as though I've got bigger fish to fry.
"Calzaghe wants everything his own way. In Roy Jones and Glen Johnson I've fought some of the best fighters in the world and earned my shot at the IBF title by boxing a tough eliminator - Calzaghe should be made to do the same."
See Clinton Woods take on Julio Gonzalez live on Sky Sports 1 from 10pm on Friday.
Calzaghe puts his WBO title on the line against Kenyan Evans Ashira on ITV Saturday night.
majestiC 09-09-2005, 12:58 PM i really like woods mainly because he isn't scared to take on the best, gd on the lad makes joe look more embarressing everyday! saying that tho i would say gonzalez might be worth a bet at 6/4
