The rumor mill is turning and here is the latest tidbit to come up: Felix "Tito" Trinidad's next opponent will be 2000 U.S. Olympian and current IBF Super Middleweight Champion Jeff "Left Hook" Lacy. Sources close to the situation released the tidbit of information, thought they wish to remain unnamed. The possible bout would mean another move-up in weight for Trinidad whose last four fights have been as a middleweight

There's not more money at 168 than 160. Prolly less, actually. I say this is bull****, at least until after a rematch with Hopkins, regardless of what happens in the interim.

I hope this is BS I don't want to see Tito against a beast like Lacy... :(

not so sure...lacy is very big, has KO power and tito's chin is not so tough.
I think it's bull****?

tito belongs at middleweight, i believe 168 is too much for his frame to carry he weighed in at 157? for the mayorga fight. lacy is a hulk of a man, hes not the only one either. all the top fighters at 168 would make trinidad look miniature. i hope he doesnt go up in weight he should just wait for hopkins to retire lol then he can deal with strum, up coming taylor, winky moving into middle etc.

i could see left hook down by a left hook.

damn i don't wnat to see this fight either, Lacy has a great career ahead of him, he is not ready for tito. lacy should avoid this fight, he would a better shot at B-hop.

which win would be more impressive winky, sturm, taylor,or lacy.

Winky, because no one would give either of the other 3 a chance.
although Taylor would be the toughest fight. because of that jab. Tito Ko's all 4 now. But in a few years Lacy should be able to take tito.

hopkins would be the most impressive, he has a style that counters trindads. strum and taylor would definately present their problems as well, theyre natural middles with excellent jabs and skill. winky would be his easiest fight imo, trinidad would abuse him if he stood in front of him in that turtle shell that mosley couldnt break through with his weak power. i feel lacy has too much mass for him, i wouldnt count tito out in a slug fest against anyone from 160 down but i think its just too much mass for him. im thinking trindads people feel no one can win a war with tito thats why theyd be considering lacy.

Lacy is way too big for tito, remember he came in as a welterweight, lacy barely makes supermiddle, and he is a huge supermiddle, way too much power for tito, he has been floored by alot softer punchers than left hook lacy, Lacy looks like a mini tyson to me, though he doesnt start out as fast, tito does not have the chin nore the strength to beat lacy, lacy kayo 6 in wicked fashion

honestly, i think tito has a better shot at beating lacy than hopkins. if he beat hopkins in a rematch i would rank him higher on my all time lists. hopkins has a bad style for trinidad. lacy fights exactly how trinidad wants his opponents to fight, try to out slug him. so far no fighter has beat trinidad in a slug fest. lacy might be too big though, he seems to have a very sturdy chin as well. shieka unloaded some flush bombs on him and he didnt buckle once. i think he was stunned in the 2nd round but his knees didnt buckle

actually i wouldnt want tito to fight lacy......just because lacy looks real big a strong.....he looks like a heavyweight lol.....i think middleweight is perfect for trinidad

Did you know that Tito was around 180 when he started to train for the Mayorga fight...I wouldn't hurt his legacy to become champ at 168...

Tito came in as a welterweight but he was struggling to make weight almost his entire welterweight career. Tito is a middleweight and he would probably weigh in at 165 at the most against Lacy. Tito's chin has also improved with the extra weight as well. Tito right now has too much for Lacy. Plus he is way more accurate than Sheika who was able to hit Lacy many times and I believe he will carry his power up with him. Lacy always finishes strong but Tito would be able to start early the way he did with Mayorga because Lacy will be in front of him. By the middle rounds Tito will get stronger and he finishes fights just as strong as Lacy does. The middle rounds will tell the fight and I think Tito's more accurate shots will win out.

Tito by late stoppage.

I'd rather like a fight between Lacy v Taylor.Anyways I'll pick Tito over Lacy based on their last fights.Look how sheika made hom look...

he was even heavier than that when i saw him in atlantic city in december of 03. and it was all fat. its just my opinion that hes too small for 168, hes already an average sized middleweight. i havent even predicted a winner, im just saying, i think he should stay where he is.

how exactly did he make him look? sheika is a much taller, boxer with skills. obviously he gave the shorter lacy trouble with rough house tactics combined with skills but eventually lacy broke him off. has tito never looked bad against average boxers? we dont really need to get into that, but tito also came back to close up the show.

I think sheika was tougher than Lacy expected, lacy didn't look that good IMO,Omar almost beat him.

the way lacy fights is similiar to trinidad. given that any boxer with skill will always give them a tough time. they both bank on the fact that their power, stamina and relentless style will eventually get them the W

let me put it to you this way so you understand where im coming from. put trinidad in there with the shieka that fought lacy. how well do you think trindad would look with a guy 6'3, good skills, good power, great chin and is holding trindad everytime he got near him? id bank that the fights would look VERY similar

Yes,very true but trinidad is much more sharper puncher than lacy right now, lacy was throwing to much highmakers,Trinidad should look better against Sheika than Jeff did.Even though I'd love a lacy v Sheika II.

TITO is more competitive and better at middleweight........that is his most effective weight.......the higher he goes the less power he has ....i mean more poeple will be able to take his punch at a higher weight

yeah, sheika didn't come CLOSE to winning that fight. He just came out early then was done by the last few rounds.

I gotta respectfully disagree. Although I think Trinidad will never leave 160, if he would fight Lacy, he would destroy him. There is nothing so special about Lacy. I would bet that Trinidad gets dropped early, and then beats Lacy half to death in the late rounds.

I must confess that I have never been sold as Lacy as anything more than a quicker Omar Sheika (who they used to tout on Tuesday Night Fights on USA as the next god at 168 pounds). I see nothing different in the future for Lacy. That may affect my analysis.
