Can someone answer this? I heard that in one of their fights, Holyfield knocked down Ruiz with a body punch that was ruled a low blow by Joe Cortez. If it were not ruled a low blow, EH would have won by KO.

I heard that in one of their fights, Holyfield knocked down Ruiz with a body punch that was ruled a low blow by Joe Cortez. If it were not ruled a low blow, EH would have won by KO. It was a bull**** call and a call that was made because Joe Cortez was in there to help out his spanish compadre John Ruiz. It was so blatant that Joe Cortez favored Ruiz in that fight and allowed him to engage in his bull**** holding tactics. **** like that needs to be investigated in this sport. theironone 09-29-2004, 02:12 PM Holy dropped Ruiz with a good bodyshot and ruiz pussied out and got a flukey call, Holy should of got the KO scap 09-29-2004, 02:16 PM I ***** about that all the time, the worst part about the low blow/knockout was that Ruiz that mother****er took 5 minutes to recooperate, good thread I love it when Jonny Louise is exsposed for the fraud he truly is, oh **** you too Stoney! theironone 09-29-2004, 02:20 PM Jesus - stoney!!! If that round was scored properly, EH would have kept his title. Neuraxis 09-29-2004, 04:10 PM Ruiz is a joke. Hirurg_ 03-02-2005, 05:30 AM Hooly knocks out Ruiz in 6 !! Repeat after me: JAY NADY. The best heavyweight referee ever to have walked the planet. The sport of boxing should be forced to pay this man millions of dollars each year to teach boxing clinics and show other refs how to do their jobs properly. This man has my highest level of respect. |
