Good question.

This is a prime example of miltary stupidity. It is not like they were doing this for their own profit. They did it to accomplish a mission. The Army does things like this to its own troops and then they wonder why no one wants to stay in.

If they are so short of troops, what they need to do is stop court-martialing people for bull**** things like this. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do to get the job done.

Why you ask? "You can have all the armor in the world on a tank and it can (still) be blown up," Rumsfeld said.

These soldiers are getting court-martialed when they accomplished the mission. The soldiers who REFUSED to go on their fuel run mission are NOT being court martialed. There is something seriously wrong here.
