View Full Version : I'm happy for Soto...
Tha Greatest 08-20-2005, 11:22 PM From living in a cardboard box...
to starting a pro career with 5 losses....
and coming in as a big underdog to win a big fight!!...
Now his time has come where everything pays off for the good...
BLOODSHED 08-20-2005, 11:25 PM These kind of stories alwyays make you feel good. He also beat the ref too.
Stealthic 08-20-2005, 11:27 PM Yeah people are taking credit away from this guy and using it to bash Juarez, who erally didn't do anything different than he normally does. Soto was just the bigger, stronger fighter, and he took some vicious left hooks that would have dropped just about anyone else at that weight.
Dude's got a chin.
Sliquestylez 08-21-2005, 12:47 AM From the way it looks was Soto was the bigger and more determined fighter. Juarez fought a good fight too but Soto was just stronger. Soto took Juarez solid left hooks and still was punching his way into Juarez. Not bad for a replacement.
how many times do i have to tell ppl that juarez is ovverrated, he sux, and hes not on the level of the big boys.
if soto beat him like this, imagine what chi would've done to him. chi would go to war with his ass.

haha yeah. If people thought he could beat Chi.....there is no way they should feel that way now. Chi would demolish Soto and Juarez in an all out attack.
SuckaPunch 08-21-2005, 12:59 AM Soto would give Chi and Marquez a run for their money. Soto is definitely going to be the bigger fighter because he's fought a lot at superfeather and once as a lightweight.

No way man. Juarez was rushing in with his gaurd up trying to get to Soto's body. He did a good job of getting inside without throwing many meaningful punches. Soto did a good job of getting out, and hitting Juarez with straight punches. The only thing is.....Chi would completely overwhelm Soto with punches. If Soto threw over 1000 punches tonight and overwhelmed Juarez.....Chi would throw 1500 mother ****ing punches and eventually catch Soto with some ****.

Rocky's always had problems being the shorter guy,and tonight it caught with him big time,he still put up a good fight though and didnt quit like i would expect other young fighters to.
Any of that "he sucks talk" is bull****.
the reason juarez lost is simple. HE SUX LIKE ****. i told ppl over and over again.
the ref seems to always be on his side.
against raheem
n now this fight to
except the judges saw it clearly ( not like the raheem fight)
i thought raheem beat him in the fight despite the deductions....
juarez sux, always has, always will
Dirt E Gomez 08-21-2005, 07:04 PM Rocky is a good fighter but he's not good enough to beat somebody like Soto. Soto had the height, the reach, and the chin. The 3 things that bother Rocky the most. A rematch would be pretty much the same thing. The ref was bias of course, as were the judges, but Soto still overcame the odds. Good for him.
SAN D13GO VILLAN 08-21-2005, 07:21 PM I hope soto gets his shot at chi its going to be a good fight.
BLOODSHED 08-21-2005, 07:39 PM Not good enough to beat Raheem either.
Briman15 08-21-2005, 08:24 PM I was so sure the refs were going to use the two rabbit punches as an excuse to tilt for Juarez. So nice to see that at least some judges are not looking out for the interests of the promoters and are judging the fights on the merits. Soto dominated the fight and I thought the rabbit punch calls were BS anyway considering Juarez seemed to be leaning in.

He definately hit behind the Head and was warned on several occasions. It was largely a factor because Rocky was leaning into Soto's shoulder so often. I still think the Judges were pretty sad. THe scored the fight 1-2 points for Soto, which is a joke. Both of the rounds in which there was a point deduction for Soto, he still won the rounds clearly to make them 9-9.

if juarez would've fought chi as it was scheduled i strogly believe that juarez would of taken him to school lets face it soto had a big height advantage, if it wasn't for that i bet juarez would've kicked his ass.(unfair mismatch)
Manny_P 08-22-2005, 12:04 AM it was a mismatch. LOL. that's (almost) like Barrera gettin pitted gainst Corrales, LOL! Nonetheless, Sot(hoe's) skills were evident. He jabbed him and hurt Who?arez plenty times wit his hooks and uppacuts.
