View Full Version : Tszyu v Hatton confirmed?
Cletus Funk 12-13-2004, 05:14 AM There's a report in an English newspaper that this fight has been agreed for the spring with just the date to confirm. Has anything come from Kosta's camp to back this up?

Great 12-13-2004, 05:53 AM I all hope for a miracle: Kostya will carry on successful negotiations for fight with May or Gatti (Spinks and Judah as I have understood, will fight with each other).
realtim 12-13-2004, 07:04 AM Dont beleive what comes out of that Warrens mouth he talks bull**** most of the time. Verbal aggreement until everyting is signed i wont believe it.

yeah, that's why I'm waiting for something from KT before I believe anything.
lets face it a verbal agreement isnt worth the paper it isnt written on  :D

so true :D
cmason 12-13-2004, 07:27 AM i agree. if hatton fought everyone who warren had a verbal agreement with he'd have had 100 fights by now.
until tzsyu is walking to the ring i won't believe this fight will happen.
treu htough this does sound like it has a little more substance in that he has been talking to zoo's team!!!
who knows it might happen it might not, ill have to make a call when im back in a month as ill HAQVE TO GO if he is fighting in Manc. Boys beano up from london again!!!
Hatton and cotto both continued to prove they are world class at the weekend.
wissy 12-13-2004, 10:15 AM British tabloids print anything that interests readers. Warren is a bs artist.
jack_the_rippuh 12-13-2004, 10:57 AM I never seen Ricky Hatton fight, can anyone describe his style and technique?

Jack, there's 2 or 3 fights in the downloads. Relentless pressure, ripping body shots, good combos, open to the occasional right. :D
Raekwon 12-13-2004, 12:04 PM yeah if he gonna fight tszyu he needs his defense on that right to be pefrect or its gonna be goodnight hatton
i wouldnt believe a single word from warren or the sun, im english and the sun is one of the most unreliable newspapers around, always reporting wrongly on many things, until i hear it from a more reliable source or from kt i wont believe it
An exciting, relentless pressure fighter, with lethal body punching a speciality especaiilly thew left hook to the ribs, never stops working not a one punch ko artist but wears them down. Stong and big at the weight.
Underated footwork and can modify his style if he needs to (tackie).
Was there sat night the place rocked 10 thousand plus going mental.

:D I'm going to have to get along to one of these.
oh yes guvnor!!! :)
excel aint as good as the MEN, no stooped seating / sides! Basically big hall matches are **** for the undercard til the main event come son then the place kicks off, bit like a rave pre and post pub close!!!!
If you want to watch boxing go to the York hall, not a bad seat in the house.

I'm living in London so York Hall would be easy. I really should get my arse in gear and get along to one :) I wish they did more fights at the Albert Hall, I love that venue.
im london too mate where abouts.
ill gladly bet 15000 points with any one if that fight happens that hatton will win.
scramwarrior 12-13-2004, 02:05 PM I think this would be great fight. Both fighters are entertaining and come to knock the other guy out every fight. Hatton seems like he is more physically gifted, but Tszyu IMO is the craftier fighter of the two and would find a way to knock Hatton out.

Out near Twickenham, what about you?
liams_parka 12-13-2004, 02:57 PM whether it happens or not. hatton really needs a big fight next and there are plenty of top class fighters in his division . but i think the tszyu fight would be huge money-spinner. maybe three or four million pounds, of which kostya would presumably get a larger slice.
if its at the MEN i'm there!!
any yeah for me hatton has a real shot.

If that fight happens in the MEN its a huge edge for Hatton- that place goes nuts for the dude

I think KT would love the atmosphere too and he'd probably get a ****-load of Aussies up from London to see him.

Yeah and Kosta seems like a type of guy who doesn't mind being the enemy in the house one bit
liams_parka 12-13-2004, 03:07 PM well the MEN would be the ideal venue all round. yes it would favour ricky, and as the less experienced, and perhaps less gifted fighter such an advantage is probably needed.
but in terms of the money involved, the MEN would be an immediate 22,000 sell out. it always is for the big events. so this would sell out in a few hours. didn't Kostya's last fight against Mitchell get a mere 5000 attendance?
davico 12-13-2004, 04:47 PM A story has just come out down here saying KT is still denying any negotiations have taken place. But for the money their quoting KT might be best served to go over and teach Hatton a few lessons. :D

Kid Achilles 12-13-2004, 05:01 PM KT would waste him. You can't stand there and take his punches like Hatton would; KT hits too hard and is too strong.

Well if you have no brains and limit physical ability to strength, maybe Tszyu has an advantage. But to me, physical ability includes body movement and speed as well as muscles. And yes, Hatton tops Tzyu in this department. If Hatton has the same physical gifts plus Tzyu's smarts and power, he would be nearly unbeatable.
