Well what I did was search MSN used cars. Theyre good cars, all fairly new but better than you could buy if it was brand new. They're all under $16k and I think theyre all before the year 2000.

When buying an "economy" car. I would suggest a Honda or Toyota, they seem to hold their value pretty damn good, comparitivly to other makes. I think the fastes depreciating cars would have to be Kia's.

Thanks guys for your input if anyone can post some pics of some trendy new cars for a decent price that would be nice. I was wondering about those nissan xterras are they any good? what about the saturn Vue suv I heard that is pretty good.

finally sumone agrees wit me. all honda's are gay(except prelude, and da S2000). lemme rephrase dat...they're not gay but they are gay if you think you're automatically gonna beat sum1 with Vtec. the thing with Vtec is that is only kicks in when you hit the higher RPM's and if you start like **** on the line ur ****ed cuz it'll take you longer before you can hit Vtec and get your full power. Honda Civics are the best bet under 20grand followed by the Corolla.

Now I love my Civic because of the great gas mileage I get and the room in it fits me well...Plus it is reliable and well built. I am not into that modding crap, I am to broke for it and it doesnt appeal to me. If I were to spend money on a P.O.S. ricer like my Civic and then dump more money than the car originally cost me to make it "look" cool. I would just put that towards a cooler car....But "cool" isnt what I am buying a car for. But for under 20 grand you cant beat a Honda or a Toyota.....

In closing those Scion cars are bad ass...Plus they are priced respectively at 16 grand.

I agree! that is why I would never buy no honda something about it just doesnt attract me or maybe cause its so generic and the most popular car in america.

Well guys Their is no changing my mind I am buying the scion in midnight blue. My reasons for buying it are simple its an all around great car and I like boxy styles cause my family has an astro and I liked that van.

Well you cant beat 31 mpg on the street, and 35 mpg on the freeway. The engine aint that powerful but I am not really looking for power.

Plus I might pimp the car with a good stereo and some dvd players on the blinds.

Yes this is true but the same people who fell for Kia there parents probably fell for Hyundai who is respected now and builds pretty good cars. Same goes for Toyota and Honda both of those brands were trashed to hell especially for Toyota because they came around when "American was the heart of it all for automobiles" and nobody wanted to accept a japanese car.....Honda was rated horribly in the mid 90's and just in recent times have gained respect because there are plenty of Hondas being driven around with over 200k miles.....

In fact a dealership in my area is offering a Honda warranty covering up to 200k miles...Pretty bold statement but you get what you pay for and I know that car will last.

The best all around economy car is SATURN in my opinion but the problem is its for parents and family people ya know so I am going with either the scion xb 2006 or the 2004.

But I will go with the 2004 because I agree with sphinx sometimes the new car companys have problems, and it also goes with brand new cars it is better to wait a year and see and see what kinda tests and complaints the car has. just like with my cell phone I got that brand new lg and then it sucked, but then a couple months later they fixed it do to customer complaints. The sad thing is they make customers like test dummies.

Well, they're the exact same SUV as Chevy's are, so... Also, the ratings done on those are not held to as high of a standard as those for cars, so they probably aren't as safe as people like to make them seem.

Other than that, you're gonna pay an arm and a leg for gas. Say hello to 8 mpg.

I have driven one before they dont have alot of pick up and arent fast but they are efficient and comfortable. Their biggest problem is the fact they dont rate very high on the crash safety tests. It's also good if you decide to get one now because they plan on moving up to 20000 in the next two years, due to them being made by toyota and they are almost equal in some models. Go for it man especially if you like doing mods for them, you can go to scion.com and build one with all your mods you want on it they have like 32 custom accessories you can choose from. Good luck on your search

Man I love classic cars but I need to think about other factors, like gas, and efficiency! that impala would take my whole paycheck and plus I know nothing about classic car engines and I know If I get a mechanic for that they would charge me a grip.

I almost bought a mustang 1967 and the guy said it needed all this stuff I was like **** he was selling me the car for 5 grand, and then he said it would cost 15 grand to fix up.

I am going to the dealer today I will get the scion xb over the tc because sphinks is right about the insurance being high for a sports car, and I could just change the intake of the scion xb and add 30 more hp and put my own dvd and stereo in the scion.

I am still thinking if I should go for the 2004 or the 2006 xb cause the 2005 didnt get a good score by jdpower.

Ya I will tell you guys how it goes.

But If I get it I am for sure gonna change the intake and put a custom aem intake this one, it would add about 25 to 30 more horses to the car.

if you do that, buy sum headers, and get ur exhaust done custom.(save exhaust for later on when ur pushing out sum real power). instead of gettin dat intake get a cold air intake. put a turbo(or supercharger) on it wit a HUGE fricken Frontmount intercooler

Man I know nothing about cars so how would I get this tuff installed? at the dealer or what?

So if the car is standard 108 horse power, what would help increase it? the cold air indution system how many hp would that add to it?

i think you could go either to a dealership or garage to get tha t installed.

and it depends on what car you have...two different cars might get a defferent amount of horsepower from a cold air intake.

There are alot of automobile companies we never hear of especially in Korea. The fact is the cars they brought over here were HORRIBLE! I stated in a previous post though that Ford makes better cars overseas than they push off on us americans.
I have to agree. A prime example of this id the Euro market Focus. It is a very well built car that recieves all kinds of acclaim but we still get the POS Focus they have built here for years.
