View Full Version : mouthguard
Prospekt 08-12-2005, 07:53 PM hello i just recently joined a gym and the trainers there advised me to get only a 1 peice mouthgaurd for the top of my mouth because they said the two peice would make it harder to breath.I just wanted to know if having a two peice is important or will a one peice provide enuff protection. any info would be appreciated thx.
abdiel2k3 08-12-2005, 07:54 PM everyones knows that a 5.1 dolby digtal mouthpiece is the best
especially if its THX certified
1 piece also known as a MONO is ok
2 piece also know as a STEREO they work
but a 5.1 dolby digital THX certified is the shit
Sir Fancylot 08-12-2005, 07:58 PM I wear a one piece.

Of course a 2 piece = more protection, but i class breathing over protection. You dont wanna choke now do ya?

the 2 buck one is a simple boil and bite mouthpiece
the 100 buck one is a custom made mouthpiece
fitted just for you like denchers
random guy 08-14-2005, 02:55 AM yeah it's cool ,you go to the dentist and they take impressions of your teeth and they send it to a company and the company sends you a mouth guard
rocco1252 08-15-2005, 01:04 PM I use the brain pad mouth guard made by everlast it's the double piece I only use it training though and I use a gel fitted mouth guard it's great it sticks to your mouth like no other mouth piece I ever had I use that for fighting.
lowkey77 08-16-2005, 12:28 AM Yo B2k5, do you have a friend who is a dentist? better yet, do you have dental insurance? if so, a dentist can make you a custom mouthpiece and write it off. acording to my insurance company, i grind my teeth in my sleep and needed a nice custom mouthpiece :)
thepitbull 08-16-2005, 01:47 PM Does anyone have this gel mouth piece? Does it have holes in it to make breathing easier?

Have you ever thought about that when you wear the custom made mouthpiece you canŽt spit it out when you feel exhausted in the fight. So youŽll loose the easy and simple way to get the couple of extra seconds to rest. And that can be the doom for you.
I recommoned the 1 piece boil & bite mouthpiece. It gives you enough protection and is cheap to get. The custom made has not so much better protection that it is worth of paying 100$.
It is a whole different story when you are a real pro and youŽll earn a little more than just a pocket money. Then you can buy the custom one.
icedog11 09-12-2005, 07:00 PM you can get the same mouthguard that the dentist buys direct from the manufacurer for 50.00-85.00 from customguards.com
