Undefeated Ricky Hatton moves one step closer to a dream fight with junior welterweight champion Kostya Tszyu by knocking out top contender Ray Oliveira. Prior to this bout, Oliveira had never been stopped and he was never dominated in this type of fashion. Oliveira is not some scrub, he handed reigning champ Vivian Harris his first defeat, outboxed Vince Phillips and gave Vernon Forrest all he could handle (taking that fight on a few days notice in at the welterweight limit). Oliveira's bout with Ben Tackie had non stop action from start to finish, the bout is ranked number 3 by Compubox for most punches thrown in a fight with over 2,700 punches thrown between both men. All of this did not matter once Hatton showed him that he was in the ring with a different breed of fighter. [details (http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=398)]

hatton vs zoo to fight cotto.
wtf
Zoo is the champion. He doesnt have time to fight all these contenders.
They should face off first, and the winner fights Zoo.

I would like to see Hatton vs. Cotto and the winner out of them take on Tszyu. These three could come together and make some entertaining fights for the fans...

I would love to see Showtime ink a Hatton-Tszyu fight, it would be great for boxing. If Showtime can dig in there pockets enough to make this fight happen along with Corrales-Castillo they would have some of the best matchups concieveable, it would be hard pressed for powerhouse HBO to be able to top the types of cards Showtime would be putting out. They would have
Spinks-Judah II in February Castillo-Corrales in March and Tszyu-Hatton in April. But in the end it comes down to Showtime spending the bucks to make it happen.

if they all want a shot at the champ (tszyu),,,then they should fight each other for that right.......but of course they won't.

Why, what was wrong with his performance against Oliveira?

There never impressed mate :)

Its like Olivera said, if you dont hold the right passport, you dont get the right respect.

IMO Olivera was coming into the fight to win, he's never been stopped and never been outboxed regardless of the opponents he's faced! How can anyone not be impressed with Hatton's brutal beat down??

fark man. Will ppl get ova Hatton and him winning against bums.
Look at Sharmba Mitchell. He was neva knock out for so long, but he got KTFO against Tsyzu.
Plus Mitchell is still in his prime, while Oliveria is fark up.

That why ppl are not impressed with Hatton.

Hatton has had big wins againist washed up big name opponents. It is very clear, he does not want to leave the UK for any fight. hatton will have to realize he will need to leave the UK to progress in his career. The sooner he realize it the more money he will make if he can beat a big name, which I doubt.

Any fight? I assume you mean any fight except the one's he's already fought in the US and Germany, or the am fights he's fought outside the UK.

Leaving the UK would be financial genius, he would get to fight the same people for less money, that makes perfect sense!!

The sooner people understand that certain fights cant be made the better, Gatti=HBO Mayweather=HBO Harris&Micthell=Demand more money than the fight can generate. Tszyu/Cotto are the only possible opponents, Tszyu may fight Hatton but he's looking for a bigger fights and it would be foolish to fight Cotto at this stage because they can make far more money in the future.

You need to do bit more research. None of the top 5 or 6 guys (KT excluded) have fought anyone better at 140 than Hatton, with the exception of Harris, who ducked Hatton and went to fight in Germany for less money against Urkal. Mitchell never got the crap that Hatton get's and the only person on his record better than Hatton's opponents was KT.

Hatton has fought in the US twice and in Germany and will go anywhere if the money's as good or better than in the UK.

I honestly thought Oliviera looked like a veteran, he was slow and had nothing to give. All credit to Hatton, but id like to see what Olivier's future opponents do to him. Will they also stop him?
