View Full Version : Reid wanted to carry on...
MrUnstoppable 08-06-2005, 11:22 PM Did anyone notice Reid had his eyebrow ****ed from the time he made his entrance until the end of the fight? I guess that was his version of the "People's Eyebrow". After the fight I noticed it had straightened out. Lacy's left hook will do that to ya.

hahaha..he did look like a damn Tubbs
restless_438 08-06-2005, 11:33 PM i thought it was cool. Made him look like 'The Rock' or something. Before i noticed it, i actually thought he just shot Lacy the eyebrow after what he thought was dirty fighting. :D
!! Anorak 08-06-2005, 11:53 PM ... thoughts?
Stealthic 08-06-2005, 11:55 PM Yea, dude was a trooper. I give him respect for that.
But had he taken any more uppercuts like that, his head would have ended up in the stands.
!! Anorak 08-06-2005, 11:56 PM Another question - just throwing this in the air - what would have happened if the first (illegal) KD didn't take place? Did that have an effect? I'm not saying it did, I'm asking the question...
michaeljackson 08-06-2005, 11:56 PM Yeah, I think the fight could have went on. But, this has definitely been the year of fighters "quitting on the stool."
restless_438 08-06-2005, 11:57 PM yeah, he gets my respect for that. Good decision stopping tho by the corner.
Parodius 08-06-2005, 11:58 PM It was a good stoppage by the corner. Although I thought the ref was just as bad as Dave Parris. Normally American refs are not homers, but this guy was. I'm an American & I wasn't happy with this ref.
Parodius 08-07-2005, 12:00 AM Another question - just throwing this in the air - what would have happened if the first (illegal) KD didn't take place? Did that have an effect? I'm not saying it did, I'm asking the question...No not really! Lacy was hurting Reid every time he hit him, Reid was holding alot in the fight. It was a mismatch.
Manny_P 08-07-2005, 12:01 AM Reid wanted to carry on................................................ ...................................gettin his ass whooped? nyahahahaha!
Hey Anorak, I dint see you make a similar thread when Gatti said "1 mo round" gainst Floyd when MGirt stopped it. LOL!
jayr517 08-07-2005, 12:02 AM I think the upper cut that put Reid down at the end of the last round was strong enough to make Reid drop his hands. I don't think it's what made him hit the canvas though. I think he had enough wits about him to realize that the punch left him unprotected, and he took a knee so he didn't get his head taken off.
On one hand you can say that he's got a great chin for having that kind of awareness. On the other hand, he dropped to a knee because he was about to have his head taken off.

Hey Anorak, I dint see you make a similar thread when Gatti said "1 mo round" gainst Floyd when MGirt stopped it. LOL!Yeah, cos Gatti - and I DO like Gatti - was embarrassing against Mayweather. You could see in his eyes that guy KNEW he was going to lose, and fought in a way to receive minimal damage... maybe on an unconscious level.
Reid believed he could win this one and went for it. Okay, it was a disaster, but Gatti wasn't the ultimate warrior that night... he just made it look like he was. Took his lumps, got the Hell out.
