Super_Lightweight 08-02-2005, 02:30 PM Why?.... Because Calzaghe is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! They know that he hits VERY hard and he'll make every fighter work 3 minutes of all 12 rounds. But most of all, there's a more than likely chance that these fighters would have or will got knocked out.
Guess what country the person who said this is from? Come on, take a wild guess. He's talking about why Tarver, RJJ, Hopkins, etc have "avoided" Joe C.

From what i remember Lacy basically said Calzaghe was by far the best super middle in the world and he'd hopefuly be ready to fight him soon, that was a few years ago and he thinks he's ready to beat him now. Thats part of the reason i respect Lacy, he knew Calzaghe would beat him in his early pro career, but now he's confident and wants to face Calzaghe.
At the moment the only fighters Calzaghe could face are Lacy and Kessler, i personally think Kessler deserves the shot more but Lacy has the US behind him which means its a bigger money fight.

What are you going on about, Calzaghe's had talks with Hopkins and Tarver and they both asked for more money than they had ever earned before. Its not that Calzaghe wanted a bigger payday, its more like Calzaghe didnt want to go into debt by fighting them, they thought Calzaghe was so risky they asked for more money than the fight would generate. Thats called *****ing out where i'm from.
BTW, Lacy hasnt done ****, he's a untested prospect so why would he deserve more than the divisions best fighter?? Get ****ing real, even Robin Reid is a big step up for Lacy, if they fight Calzaghe will get the lions share of the purse. Lacy better bring his ass to the UK too, the only US fighter worth travelling for would be Jones jr.
