The Sanctioning bodies of boxing should get together and form a Seniors Division for fighters, similiar to the one that we already have set up for older tennis players. In the Boxing Seniors Division a fighter will become eligible of he chooses to fight in this division at the age of 45. The same fighter can also compete with the younger fighters in the regular division if he chooses to do that as well. In the Seniors Division will also be crowned a Seniors Division Champion according to weight class. Think about it some of the great fighters that are still around like Hearns and Leonard could come out of retirement and fight other older fighters like themselves, without having to compete in the regular division where they can get injured by the young guns. Besides I always wanted to see Big George Foreman fight Larry Holmes. The Seniors Division, good idea? bad idea? Cast a vote and give your opinion.

Yes why not. . . by all means. To protect the old fighters from the ravishing young ones.

are you serious or are you just going the INFAMOUZ route and typing any random thought that pops in your head?

Who the hell's gonna watch a senior's division?

Are you trying to set a post record or what?

this is a bad idea, say one of them got injured or killed, the medical community would be straight on our backs saying" why are they letting old men fight"? in fact i think they should put an age limit on the pro ranks, say 38? good idea, or not?

But you have now resorted to personal attacks....oh yeah look at your statement above. If you cant be constructive in your criticism STFU....or are you one of these "**** disturbers" in disguise trying to start **** with me? Because if that is the case I have a LOT more points then it appears, A HELL OF A LOT MORE you best step the fuk back.

Come on J-Swift this is not one of your better posts. George Foreman and Larry Holmes set the benchmark for older fighters holding there own and then some. Why put these fighters in their own class if they can handle the young guys? Also, fighters would have too much pride to go into a senior citzen boxing division. I mean who could you convince to go into a division like that? Holyfield would tell you to go to hell before doing something like that?

I see your point, I didnt think about the pride factor. Many of these ring legends would be humiliated to enter a division like this. Still, in my humble opinion it still wouldn't be a bad idea just to see some of these old guys fight each other. Imagine Donald Curry and Leonard fighting each other finally.

Hey don't get lost I'm not talking of 60 and 70 years old fighters here. What I have in mind are fighters 35 to 40 years old who still wants to stick to the sports. Just like Tyson, Holyfield and Foreman now. . . Or it can be extended up to 42 PROVIDED these fighters will be certified by a doctor or a medical institution that indeed they are still fit to fight. After that 40 or 42 age limit . . .mandatory retirement. And it doesn't have to be a PPV or HBO or it may not be even covered at all. . . the point is, these old fighters who has contributed so much to the sports be spared from humilations by being beaten up by 24 to 26 years old fighters.

Now you have problem with that ? Sorry if you don't like the idea Bro . . . don't jump on me . . . that's my honest opinion. :D . . . POST RECORD? . . . Yeah my ass . . . who the **** needs that?

I think Duran would be a threat at heavyweight.
