"With all the publicity surrounding Amir Khan it’s easy to forget there are other extremely talented youngsters in the professional ranks.

Kevin Mitchell, who won the ABAs as an 18-year-old, has been quiet recently after having an operation on his hand.

But he is back in September and I’m sure it won’t be too long before we see Kevin fighting for his first title."

Do you think this sort of problem is going to hinder him his entire boxing career?

Right now, Kevin Mitchell vs Amir Kahn, who wins??

I've got Micthell, but i think Amir will soon be able to take him.

Kevin Mitchell is the guy I'm getting excited about more so than Amir Khan, he's widely regarded as London's hottest prospect since Nigel Benn!

I really don't know on that one elveiel...

They're both fantastic prospects... Kevin Mitchell has more professional ring experience at W-14 (9 ko's) L-0 D-0, But Amir Khan has spent the last year at the Olympic games winning the silver medal and then avenging/defeating Mario Kindelan.

I think on that bases I'd have to lean towards Amir Khan. (But I wouldn't put any money on it!!!)

?? What up with you at the moment ??

Mitchell's a decent prospect, a bit too young to tell if he'll make it but he has a lot of talent.

Mitchell seems more suited to the pro's, if he matures well he'll be a world champion, if not he'll just be another Michael Gomez.

Khan got a really easy nights work against Bailey so its hard to tell how good he'll be, Mitchell would give him a good test, but that fights about as likely and Khan vs Tyson while Frank Warren controls both.

Yeah... The only time these two will face off is if one of them loses a load of fights before hand!... :D

I do think that we should get behind Amir Khan despite the feelings that in the public's eyes, "he's more famous than Calzaghe! even though he hasn't done anything in the professional ranks yet!"

Khan has a long hard battle especially now he's in the public eye... (Something Kevin Mitchell has had the luxury of avoiding).

I like Amir Khan, maybe BECAUSE he too like Ricky Hatton is a new breed of British fighters that are impossible not to like.

They're respectful, charming, and get on with their business... I think that the fact Khan refused to turn pro before he got either a rematch with Kindelan or fought in the World championships tells us that this guy isn't f**king about.

I expect Amir Khan to follow the same suit in the pro ranks, and I've got a good feeling he will... ;)

hi guys, i know i was right i spoke to Kevin rignside when i covered the minter symonds fight but glad its finally come out in the wash a few months later :D

i dont make things up chaps! ;)

just joshing cheers for he props, not much point discussing mitchell and Khan, two fighters both with warren, two potential future cash cows for frank to take over from Calzaghe and Ricky, and Amir is much bigger than Kevin, Kevin is a genuine Super feather Amir will end up being a light welter/welter.

You a journalist or something.

I respect anyone who spots talent before a lot of people do, and it seems like you did from what people are saying.

im a fan first mate, i have done quite a bit of writing for a well respected website that focusses soley on british boxing.

not really spotting the talent on this one, its pretty obvious if you watch Kevin h is a young talent, just potential pitfalls for young Kev.

his brother Vinny is ive heard going to be even better.

Thanks for those links, thats a great site, full of stuff to look at in terms of british boxing. I think i should spend more time learning about some more young prospects.

Kevin sounds like a great fighter from your article. Nice one :D.

EDIT: Oh one thing though, do you cover amateurs or is it just professionals? I looked up someone i know who has a good amateur record i think and he wasnt in the records section so i didnt know!
