Dear Vitali,

The boxing public is confused as to who the man in the heavyweight division is today. If you defeat Danny Williams tomorrow (Saturday) night, I challenge you to a world heavyweight championship unification match, my WBA belt against your WBC belt.

Here are some of your recent quotes:

“I want to be the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.”

"I'm the heavyweight champion of the world. And when you have this belt, you have to seek out the best."

"You put your name into the (history) books by going out there and fighting the toughest guys. What kind of champion would it be who would say, `No, I don't want to fight this man because he is too tough?' How could you have the respect for him? I want to be different."

“I want to fight against the strongest challenger in the world.”

I agree. There’s only one place to settle this and that’s in the ring, not by what boxing commentators or writers say. You’re fighting tomorrow (Saturday) night, but this message is for Chris Byrd and Lamon Brewster, too. As you know I support a heavyweight tournament matching the four major world title-holders. Tournament or not, though, I intend to only fight so-called world champions.

If you really want to fight the best and the toughest in our business consider my accomplishments and compare them to anyone else (including yourself) in our division:

I’ve beaten three former world champions – Evander Holyfield, Hasim Rahman and Tony Tucker.

I’ve beaten five top 10 contenders in world title fights – Holyfield, Rahman, Andrew Golota, Fres Oquendo and Kirk Johnson.

I’ve had eight WBA title fights, fought 93 championship rounds, and been a world champion for more than three years, two months and counting.

Boxing is about winning and imposing your will on your opponent, not style points. I’ve fought and beaten the best heavyweights in the world other than you.

I hear that HBO is holding a date for you in March of 2005, so for boxing fans all over the world, let’s take the first step and unify our titles.

Good luck Saturday and Happy Holidays to you and your family.

Sure, Ruiz is not close to Vitali's level, but at least the guy truly wants some challenges. Give him credit for that.

HEy whats up excite!

You sure lucked out yesterday, it was my fault I never returned to the thread...otherwise you would be in the serious red right now in points...are you still sold on Jirov?

I give Johnny credit, unfortunately I think the tournament when it does take place is going to be missing its most important player...VK

Johnny may want VK so he can get the recognition but what are the chances of Donny King letting VK come in and take all three of his belts...unless he gets some serious options on the deal I would say that the party will only include LAmaon, Johnny and Chris...Don will probably throw in someone like Henry Akinwande...hoping for a career resurection.

Seriously, Ruiz isn't a bad guy, I think he would love to fight VK....I would love to see it as well!!!

I would not be red. I got plenty of points banked.

About Ruiz, I support the guy since he is Boricua, but I admit he does not have much skill. He would take Brewster for sure and might impose his will against Byrd.

Calling out a fighter and actually signing a contract on the dotted line to face the fighter without any strings attached from your dickface promoter are two different things. James Toney has been calling people out forever but somehow refuses to sign on and fight them does that mean he is brave?

thats his style if he fights toe to toe he cant win.like chris byrd said last night you dont quit in boxing(talking about vitali).you would rather see a guy that quits or i guy that does his best to win.ruiz aint the most flashy boxer(by far) but he continues to get the job done.and that is all that matters.

Donk King wrote that. He should have added: "and Don will take care of the referee and judge selection."

Didn't we decide that when you call someone out, you have to step into the ring to show balls.

This is the same as Gatti calling out Tszyu yesterday.

If I call out VK, that doesn't mean that I have balls.

Don king needs to grow some balls and let his champions fight.

Well its brave of Ruiz, ore maybe he`s being ****y cause he knows King newer will let him fight VK.

Anyway i hope this happens cause then we`ll get rid off Ruiz once and for all.

I wonder if John Ruiz would dump Don King in order to fight Vitali. If he does that then I would give him his props and his due respect, but we know he won't and he is just trying to get fans on his side with this bull**** letter because he knows that he hardly has any fans out there.

....."the boxing public is confused as to who is the man in the heavyweight division" That line right there set the whole tone for that nonsense. The only one confused is you and maybe your closest friends and family. Nobody else doubts that your definitely not the man. However, if he drops King to make a fight with Vitali happen then that would be something I would have to respect. How funny would it be to see Stoney screaming at Vitali's corner and throwing a fit only to see Wlad swat him like a fly when he gets out of hand.
