July 27, 2005 - Samuel Peter's manager Ivaylo Gotsev informs **********.com that the Peter-Wladimir Klitschko fight is in the works and looking good. "It's good to say that he's finally going to be a man and we salute him for doing the right thing, but he's agreeing to the wrong fight. It looks like we're going to get a deal done. The way I look at it is, Wladimir Klitschko is a dead man walking. Hopefully Wladimir Klitschko is man enough to go through with this fight, we're not ruling out the WBC yet, but I have the best heavyweight in the world and I have no doubt that he's going to knock Klitschko out. It could be the fastest knockout in heavyweight history."



Editors Note: Klitschko's advisor Shelly Finkel has informed **********.com that Team Peter has a $900,000 offer on the table to face Wladimir on September. **********.com expects Peter to accept the offer in the coming days since it's far more than he's ever made before and certainly MUCH more than he'd get to Sinal Sam.

Looks like there's nothing stopping this from getting signed now.

According to manager Ivalyo Gotzev, his fighter, Samuel “The Nigerian Nightmare” Peter, 24-0 (21), and former WBO champion Wladimir Klitschko, 44-3 (40), have "all but finalized," a deal for their box-off to determine the IBF’s new #1 contender. Peter is a good puncher, nothing more. Wlad will get KO'd if Peter lands anything flush. The only question is will Peter be able to land flush? He's going to have to be fast and I have seen no prrof that he has superior speed to Wladimir. Very interesting fight though.

i think this fight is a bad idea for both fighters. Peter has fought no one with the size and skill of Wlad. If Wlad is smart he will stay away all night and pepper Peter with that stiff jab. If he fights a smart fight and can avoid the big shot then he walks away with this one easily. Could be shades of Tyson vs Lewis.

If Peter can put pressure on Wlad and cut off the ring he will be able to land the big shots to the ribs and chin. If that happens and Wlad just cannot get away from Peter then it will be lights out.

We will know how this fight will turn out after the first minute of the fight.

Get your facts straight.

The IBF (making a good call for a change) decided that a guy with two brutal KO losses in his last 6 fights had no business getting a title shot.

Peter...brutal KO that sends Wlad out of the ring and into Merchants lap.

I'd rather watch Vitali pick apart Peter than watch Peter merc Wlad and that uber soft chin of his.

Wlad is a huge step up from Jeremy Williams and the rest of the lower tier that Sammy Pete has been blasting out. Sure Wlad apparently has the chin of a dentist, but I dont see Peter landing flush very often. Also, in case no one noticed, the only way Sammy Pete blocks punches is with his face. Thats not a good defensive plan against either of the Klitchs. I got Wlad winning every round. Peter could always end it with a few flush shots, but I dont see him being fast enough.

it doesent make any sense for Peter to take this fight. He is the youngest top contender in the division and he really doesent have anything to gain and stands a much greater chance of losing this fight than just about any other he could take. I don't think this fight is going to be as tough to call as everyone is making it out to be.

Wlad's defense is pretty good, he has a god damn sledgehammer jab, and is probably the most "gifted" boxer in the heavyweight division.
