With the recent losses of Evander Holyfield and Vasily Jirov, and the revelation that Rydell Booker is more a drug dealer than a boxer, have you re-evaluated James Toney's position in the heavyweight food chain?

Good question to all the hardcore Toney-nuthuggers...I think he still has what it takes, though..

P.S. Is that guy the truth from San Andreas?

Toney ius undoubedly a very skiulled boxer but he remains unproven at heavyweight.

I must say that even though I can't stand James Toney's constant yapping he does make me crack up. I like it when he was all calm sitting down with the rest of the guy's and when they asked him and Byrd whether or not they were ever going to get it on he just got all riled up and stood up screaming to the crowd.

I think his big head (both literally and metaphorically) makes him easier to hit (both literally and metaphorically).

i think Toney is very entertaining and brings various unorthodox characteristics to the heavyweight division. I mean, who pokes their tongue out in the middle of a fight with Real Deal Holyfield. You guessed it, James Toney.

he is the most skilled fighter in his division and has been unlucky too get injured in his last 2 fights (during training the first time), he will win a title at hw in 2005, more than likely the ibf considering his past history with them.

Didn't Chris Byrd do that too...I seen a picture of it..

I think Holy was clearly fading when Toney faught him, but he was nothing compared to how bad he is now. I think the Holy that faught Toney wouldve beaten Donald but he is getting older every fight and will regress every fight. The Jirov fight was totaly different. You cant compare what Toney did to him at Cruiser with him losing at heavy weight. Of course Jirov is not going to dominate the heavy's but he was basicly unbeatable at cruiser and you cant diminish the Toney win. In fact you could argue that he should get more credit for the win considering how well Jirov has did at heavy. Sure he loss but look at his style he is a straight forward all out punching fighter. He shouldve been getting killed by big time punchers like Mesi, and Moore. He dropped Mesi 3 times and he wouldve won if he had 1 more round. He also dominated Moore until the KO. Look at all the guys Moore has beaten. Mesi KO Willamson in the first, and beat Barret. I also think that the Toney fight took alot out of him. I dont think some of the so called top heavies could beat a inshape Toney. I think he would beat Mesi, Brewster, Byrd, Barret, Wladamire, Ruiz, Golota, and probally Rahman

I do think his stock has gone down. Inactivity, who has he fought that is a prime contender? Jirov was the last one. I think he damaged Jirov quite a bit, Jirov hasn't been the same since James beat him. Holyfield was washed up prior to fighting Toney. James needs to step up and fight a truely ranked fighter and beat him to prove himself as a HW. I don't think any less of him after last nights fight, but time is passing, if he wants to make a mark in the HW division, he needs to soon. Maybe a fight with Sam Peter would help. If he can KO a Oquendo or Golata, that would also help. Tye Fields is out there for him too. But what I would love to see James do is fight Lamon Brewster. That is one guy I think James would KO inside of 8 rounds. And it would give him a belt, though it isn't the best one to have, its a start. When is his next fight????
