Aside from what i thought was an early stoppage, i thought the worst part about the night was the fox sports net announcers. They could take all the excitement out of a Gatti and Ward fight and then go on to suck the joy out of a fair with their tedious commentary.

They acted like they were commentating to folks who didn't watch boxing.

Maybe they were told to dumb it down since some casual fans who normally just tune in for BDSSP would be watching.

well i think the ref made the right choice by stoping the fight jorov was in no shape to continue that fight as for the announcers i agree with you there are awful

They seemed to be speaking to a different audience than those who buy boxing on PPV; lots of generalizations and stuff that was pretty basic and not necessarily related to the fight specifically.

I don't think they did a bad job. Most people who would watch BDSSP wouldn't be boxing fans so they need to simplify it.

The horrible ones were the BDSSP hosts who were trying to pretend they knew anything about boxing. You know Tom Arnold doesn't know much when he actually thinks a big bicep can win a fight. It was good to hear Moorer tell him that has nothing to do with boxing.

i thought tom arnolds scores were awfull funny i think he was giving 10-8's for no real reason and stuff, but hell it was entertaining anyway

please guys don't be boxing snobs. not everyone out there has the knowledge we do. i thought they did a good job. tom arnold was terrible but the other guys were ok. and like a few before said, alot of the tv audience that normally watches bdssp aren't huge boxing fans so they had to cater to that audience.

I think Barry Tompkins is one of the best in the business. Sean O'Grady is an idiot. They should dump him and get back Rich Marotta.
