....Jirov is one tough bastard and he has a ton of heart but he is not a heavyweight puncher and he gets hit waaaay too much. A bad combination if you wanna mix it up with the big boys. I like the guy alot too but I had a feeling he might get in trouble tonight.

Yes. He is too little, not a natural HW. :( :( :(

....He could get by if his defense was better, but at least he doesn't hug, hold, slap, and run from guys to try and get the cheap non heavyweight appealing win. He stands in and fights like a real man. Too bad he aint got the pop to stand in with the bigger men and take em out.

Jirov and J.C Gomez need to move back down to Cruiserweight and fight each other because they clearly cannot take a heavyweights punch.

I'm shocked  Never gave Moorer a chance to win against the Tiger who IMO is just warming up for some big wars ahead against Byrd or Ruiz and then a rematch with Toney.

I am very upset as well,

when your favorite fighter goes down it hurts if your a real boxing fan.

I think Jirov doesn't need the cruiser division,

he doesn't need a cheap belt he knows he can win against guys like Mormeck or Braithwaite

he is a true champ because he wants a challenge, and i love him for it.

I don't care if he loses he puts himself on the line to try and prove to himself, what he is made of,

and even if he gets KOed again, at least he knows he gave it his all.

Good win for Moorer though No question

....good post!!! I try to feel for guys when their favs get knocked out because I know the pain and it hurts. That's one of the reasons I have never heckled my friends when their favorite teams lose or their fighters get whacked. I know how it feels and you don't need to hear that ****. I can't watch a heavyweight fight that I deeply care about around people that aren't on the same page as me because I snap if they are trashing my guy. I am having some neighbors over for the Vit fight under the rule that if they talk **** about him during the fight they are liable to get smacked. As long as they understand my passion going in then we should be cool. Famous last words. :)

well my world is crashing down after that loss, a second loss for jirov. he is still an awesome fighter to watch though. i love how he jumped up thats what i want to see. it shows his eagerness and his heart. it seemed to me his left hand was pretty neutralized most of the fight and he could not launch his own power shots. every time he threw a left hook moorer threw one over his. i thought that jirov made a smart change when he started throwing uppercuts around the 4th. he was definately fighting a good fight...

yes. Please Vassily. I love to watch him fight, and although he was wobbly after he got up, he looked like he had straightened out. The ref stopped the fight not when Jirov was wobbly, but when he composed himself and walked straight to him. Bottom line is Jirov needs to move back down. His body cant handle the Heavy division and he gets hit too much. **** Moorer though, put him in against any top 20 HW and he gets KO'd.

jirov was definately ko'd he did not walk straight towards him he took one step that swept out sideways, any way no matter how technicall you make it he was out on his feet and could have been hurt if the fight continued. wish him the best though he needs something in his career to put an exclamation on it and if he's not going to take any heavyweight belts i hope toney and him can put together a trilogy eventually.

jirov had the perfect gameplan....but he just got caught with a punch.....he had that fight already but i think he got alittle lazy and tired....theres no doubt jirov would be better at cruiserweight.....but i still think he could compete at heavyweight...i want to see him fight ruiz

Was it a Sunday punch that got Jirov or was it a combination ?

yup, so the Sunday punch did get him. Would be best for Jirov to get back to Cruiser where he is more comfortable. He has a much better chance of long-term success there.

What happened was Moorer caught him mid ring
and instead of moving away Jirov put his shoulder to Moorer moved back and hit him with a clean three punch combo

problem is it didn't stop Moorer enough and he nailed Jirov on the ear and temple

and Jirov was on delayed reaction mode, that is why he was half throwing another punch before going down.

Honestly I think it sucks that Jirov lost, but I hope maybe it will make Toney fans realize what will happen when he fights a real heavyweight, Jirov has already fought harder competition than Toney but they were still far from top tier heavyweights. Jirov is an awesome fighter I would rather watch him shut Tarvers big mouth than get beat up by guys with much less skill than him, but with too much power.

I didn't see the fight but thought that Moorer had a slight chance in this one. He can hurt people when he connects, not saying he is any where near what he once was but the guy can still punch. Anyway what kind of fight takes place on Thursday night?
