  • the loss was more popular than the win

chad dawson's recent loss was more of the issue here in the boards than it was pascal's win... which is somehow unfair to pascal...

can the more informative posters here in the history section name some examples when the defeat of the fighter is more popular than the victory of his foe...

    i'll start...

    tyson's to buster douglas...

    ali's to holmes...

    amir khan's to prescott...

Among english HW's you find some of the best examples:

        Erskine's loss to Cooper
        Cooper's loss to Bugner
        Bugner's loss to Bruno
        Bruno's loss to Lewis.

            'sup Talip?

In the case of these english the funny thing is that all those fights was a sort of changing-of-the-guards fights. The loser became more popular in losing than he ever was in winning. That is with the possible exception of Bruno who was always insanely popular.

Good example. dempsey wasn't terribly popular during his reign. The long count gave him the sympathy of a nation.

                Tyson-Holmes might be another one.
