One thing that's distressed me of late is the amount of unnecessary negative publicity building up around Danny Williams, complete with dubious quotes attached to him. Not for nothing is Danny known as the nicest guy in boxing.

It's a shame because he's risking his life on Saturday yet if he gets hurt people will be saying he deserved it because of some scurillous reports doing the rounds.

But I like Vitali too - they're both nice guys, so where's the edge? Is that why people are creating one? Trust me, guys, Danny's a lovely guy and the main reason he's frozen in the past is because his natural tendencies are pacifist. That's no excuse... he's just too kind.

"Scurillous reports during the rounds"? What are you talking about?

There's at least two others current threads "quoting" Danny and his trainer.

Yeah these two are both nice guys. Judging by the money they are picking up though being nice doesn't pay unless you're George Foreman. Personally I prefer to see hostilities take place inside the ring and I think this fight will be a good one.

I've just seen Danny blasted as a "Limey" on another thread here. I always love to see a bit of racism with my boxing discussion, that's made me feel right at home.

danny wasnt nice when he low blowed and koed michael sprott
and he wasnt nice before and after the sinan samil fight

he disrespected sam and got his ass handed to him.
then had the gaul to say he should of won and
hes still the man.
hes as delusional as roy jones jr.

he beat an old and injured tyson.
now he thinks hes going to beat a younger, fitter
and all round better fighter in v-klit.
hes as delusional as roy jones jr.

i havent once heard williams say this is the hardest
fight of his career when it so blatantly is.

i hope williams wins for us brits but thats the only
reason id like him to win.
