If your going to put the kids life in danger, at least try to give him a lil' protection. Obviously there's a problem with not having armor vehicles. The least rummy could do is swallow his pride and say something like, "I'll see what I can do." These kids have their whole lives ahead of them. Support the troops, give them the armor they want. Even if it won't help in some circumstances, They can still feel that they have some support from the leaders who took us to war. This shouldn't even be a matter of politics, this should just be a matter of decency. That's how I see it.

actually those questions werent even his own. as the story unfolds he was one of the soldiers that escorted a journalist from tennessee. the event was set so that only soldiers could question rummy. the journalist had wilson ask the question. they even practiced what would be asked. it wasn't the only question that was to be asked. i'm not saying that what was being asked wasn't legit, but i wonder if there was a price for the question. we all know our soldiers aren't paid enough.

.....Seriously, I hear ya. Rumsfeld is too frickin stubborn to admit to anything and his style is abrasive to say the least. I agree that they should have whatever they need but the question of who is at fault is more than a little complex. Bottom line is that they should have what they need.

We throw words like "hero" around far too easily...
