Sam Langford
Carlos Monzon
Ray Robinson
Harry Greb
I had tough time picking Greb over James Toney.
Hopkins has nothing to do with an all time top10 MW list.

You can't put Roy at the top of the MW list.
He grabbed a vacant title by beating Hopkins and then he was out...

My lists based on prime ability.
Noone can beat a prime RJJ.

He was at his best at SMW... he was still green during his MW run... he was 21-0 when he fought Bernard..

Even a green Roy Jones JR beats any middleweight.
Barnburner 08-11-2010, 10:56 AM Even a green Roy Jones JR beats any middleweight.
I believe Hagler would beat Jones at middleweight personally.
Hagler was an amazing ring tactician who was an expert at cutting off the ring, in my opinion he would make Roy Jones' speed redundant pressure him all night, wear him down then pounce in the 11th for a TKO.
THE REED™ 08-11-2010, 10:57 AM Even a green Roy Jones JR beats any middleweight.
The Hagler that fought Hearns might take him out... actually, it's quite likely.
The Hagler that fought Leonard might lose..
Barnburner 08-11-2010, 11:11 AM Hagler that fought Leonard was past his prime.
Did you see him in the Mugabe fight before it, got hit way to much the fact that he had heart and grit probably helped him more than anyhting in that fight.

That's why I mentioned it..

Good list, I've always liked Langford at MW.
Don't like Hopkins but given his record you'd have to throw him in the mix too.

What record ? losing twice to a never was Jermain Taylor that besides losing to Pavlik (*2) , Froch and Abraham the way he did , he also deserved to lose to Cory Spinks and Ronald Wright also ?

Too uppity for you? Big though thought you liked big fighters?
Had a few more fights at MW than Langford who lets be honest you only like because he fought and beat guys bigger than himself.
frankenfrank 08-12-2010, 05:44 AM Too uppity for you? Big
Big but weak and you ignored the glory in his achievements against Jermain Taylor.
He needed to be the dirtiest fighter of the last 50 years at least to achieve his poor achievements , because being big was not enough for his lack of talent.
His talent was in his ability to foul .
though thought you liked big fighters?
Wrong again.
Had a few more fights at MW than Langford who lets be honest you only like because he fought and beat guys bigger than himself.
True here.
He KOd many guys much bigger than himself and was seldom stopped himself.
erikmorales 08-12-2010, 05:50 AM I think James toney deserves a mention, he would give any mw in history some problems
