WBA super lightweight king "Vicious" Vivian Harris will be in Las Vegas this weekend to personally see Miguel Cotto defend his WBO belt against Randall Bailey. Cotto, at one time, was Vivian's mandatory challenger but reliniquised his position to fight for the WBO belt instead. "I will be ringside to see Cotto and let him know I will give him a shot at the title, even if he's no longer the #1 contender" stated Harris, "I was planning on going to England to watch Hatton, but I decided to come to Vegas for Cotto instead. It was a tough choice, because I am willing to give either one of them a shot at my belt in 2005 and thats why I am going to the fights, to let them personally know, to look them in the eyes and say lets get it on, just as I did to Kostya Tszyu last month". Harris confronted Tszyu on Showtime TV in hopes of getting the Australian dynamo into the ring. "2005 will be a huge year for boxing, if either Hatton, Cotto, Tszyu or Mayweather step it up and sign to fight me. I want them all, in any order but lets get it started."

I gotta give props to Harris. The man is the only one at 140 not f**king around. While Tszyu is fighting once every 2 years like he's Ray Leonard or something, Gatti is fighting club fighters and unproven europeans, and Hatton is dicking around with nobodies the likes of Pederson and Stewart, Vivian Harris is seriously trying to get something big done. While he isn't the biggest name at 140, he's certainly got the biggest balls.

Yeah I would love to see Harris get a big pay day myself, he seems like a hard worker who loves the sport. Who knows, if he can take out Cotto we may seem him expload into a top pound for pound fighter. This would be a big risk fight for both Cotto and Harris, but i'd think both guys would be best served by making it happen.

he'd have a better chance at taking out hatton and gatti, maybe even mayweather. i'd steer clear from cotto, boys the real deal all around .

Yup, Karma points for this post, bro. Harris has too much torso for a bodypuncher like Cotto. Harris would lose his legs by the 5th round just as Pinto did.

He is full of ****. He could have fought Hatton last year and ducked out by asking for stupid money. Who in their right mind would pay this jabroni £750,000 for a fight? He is a nobody outside the hardcore boxing world. The fighters who Joe Public recognise make the money because they draw crowds. Harris couldn't draw flies with two hands full of horse ****.

Cotto-Harris would be a good fight for Cotto after Bailey...

I've never seen a fighter as serious and concentrated in the ring as Cotto. It's really hard to take someone like this out of their game. Very few boxers have I seen with this style, in my years watching boxing. Barrera, De la hoya, Morales, Lacy, Sturm, Tszyu and a few others. When you have a fighter like this, you can expect to see a great sooner or later. So, my prediction will be Cotto holding all major belts by '06-'07. If he can get by Kosta.

I think that Ricky Hatton is a great fighter. But, he is really tailor made for Cotto. With his come on slugging style, he'll be cut down by Cotto within 6 rounds. Watch Cotto in the Bailey fight. He has a fantastic defense.
At this stage, at 140lbs, I don't know of anyone who will beat him. That includes Kostya!

this is good news, my opinion of harris went up when he fought urkal twice in germany. not many would go there once, but he went twice. now he's saying he'll give cotto a shot without cotto calling him out or being his no1. good luck to him, you could hardly see hatton or warren doing this, could you?

Yeah it's not like Hatton has called out Harris, Pinto and Tszyu in the last 12 months and two of that three blatantly ducked him.

Urkal cant punch so its a no risk fight, beating him once was enough but twice was silly!!

I rate Harris, i'd like to see him in with a world class opponent but i doubt anyone will meet that silly price tag he puts on himself!!

If you dont have any fans and your promoters dont like you its time to take the short money and prove your worth!!
