View Full Version : Degale or Groves???? adietheforestfa 08-02-2010, 03:29 PM Who is your favorite??? Personaly I hope Groves smashes Degales Face In Irish Hitman 08-02-2010, 05:03 PM Ive seen all of degales fights he's average, but groves schools him The_Demon 08-02-2010, 05:34 PM I prefer groves and think he would win if they meet in the pros although he needs a lot of improvement,he didnt look very good on saturday night Rastamouse 08-02-2010, 06:21 PM Hopefully Degale does well and we can have a unfication in a few years ;). I do prefer Groves but thats probably because I saw him smash up Adamu. The_Demon 08-02-2010, 06:25 PM Hopefully Degale does well and we can have a unfication in a few years ;). I do prefer Groves but thats probably because I saw him smash up Adamu. I didnt think much of groves' performance on saturday night too be honest, did you see it? larss7on 08-02-2010, 07:39 PM I think DeGale would win at the moment based on Groves last fight.. Also how can you vote against the worst nickname in boxing. I still have flashbacks to his entrance with some guy going "Hes Chunkyyy, Chunkyyy". Love it. Rastamouse 08-02-2010, 08:32 PM I didnt think much of groves' performance on saturday night too be honest, did you see it? I've not but I have subcribed to the thread asking for it! ..and I was on about on the Haye Ruiz undercard up in Manchester. Rastamouse 08-02-2010, 08:35 PM I think DeGale would win at the moment based on Groves last fight.. Also how can you vote against the worst nickname in boxing. I still have flashbacks to his entrance with some guy going "Hes Chunkyyy, Chunkyyy". Love it. I remember what you mean. All three of Warrens Olympians had one, they're as bad as Khans! QUELOQUE 08-03-2010, 02:14 AM Both of them look pretty big for 168. Groves as if he's taking the entire blueprint to Haye's style. His chin will fail him 1 day and it looks to be soon because he can not fight with that style with his reflexes. He better shore up his defense if he wants to go far and also make sure he stops counter punching with his left hand until he's able to time opponents better because he's getting close to getting caught with a right hand while he tries to land a counter. Degale has more to work with and as of right now the better prospect. Kid just needs to stop clowning around in the ring and learn how punch correctly and accurately. It looks like he's cuffing when he's throwing shots and his accuracy sucks. The Nimble Guru 08-03-2010, 03:05 AM I really do think DeGale is the definition of hype and could prove to be this decade's Audley Harrison. KlownvonnomaD 08-03-2010, 05:32 AM I say Groves as well. But I definately think they both need to fix up there defence and stop trying to be so flash. They're both quite good boxers, but if they keep going the way they are then there bound to get sparked. Fish_Scotland 08-03-2010, 05:59 AM I personally hate DeGales attitude for such a young fighter. He's got all the makings of a hype job who'll rise and rise until he is found out at a higher level and then after defeat he'll remain an average domistic fighter at best (as said; Fraudley Harrison mark 2) I could be wrong of course and to be fair to him he has made good progress over his last couple of fights. Groves I really like, although saturdays performance was muted to say the least. I worry like others that defensively he's going to have real trouble when stepping up, he's just far too open after throwing himself. If you'd asked me before saturday I'd have said Groves would wipe the floor but there were weaknesses easily identified on saturday in Groves game and there has been vast improvements in DeGales game albeit neither fighter has fought a truly testing fighter yet. Overall all though at this stage I rekon Groves is the better fighter, or should I say the fighter with the better potential. KlownvonnomaD 08-03-2010, 07:45 AM Your right DeGale's attitute is gonna be his downfall. I remember his first pro fight, he actually boxed really well (ok against some barman) and of course because he didn't rush in and take the guy out in less than a round the moronic crowd boo'd him off. Ever since then his been this ****y prick that tries to KO every fighter with one punch. Unless he gets back to boxing properly he's defo gonna be the next greay hype job. Uturn 08-03-2010, 10:25 AM Groves is the better fighter imo. I think Degale is more hype than anything. Mushroom 08-03-2010, 11:01 AM Tbh neither of them have impressed me all that much. elgaringo 08-03-2010, 02:07 PM I really do think DeGale is the definition of hype and could prove to be this decade's Audley Harrison. Maybe......... Tho Id like to think Degale will show more improvement and come thro for us. The last thing this country needs is another Harrison! Lloydy 08-05-2010, 09:01 AM I agree - Prior to Saturday I would of said Groves but he needs to calm down, pace himself more and tighten up defensively! De Gale has improved ALOT since his first few fights where he seemed a bit clueless and slapped a bit. He's turning his hands over more and is blowing opponents away (all average though) so it's brewing up nicely between them although it will be a full on hype job until they meet, which I doubt will be for at least another year..... House of Stone 08-26-2010, 06:12 PM neither guy is the finished article thats for sure but I certainly prefer Groves - I may change my mind as I see more of them but so far think degale has done little to deserve the hype ERICTHEVID 09-01-2010, 04:08 AM they have boxed in the ABAs , its on youtube!! ERICTHEVID 02-13-2012, 09:01 AM I have uploaded more fights Knockout12 02-23-2012, 05:43 PM Both are good, but I prefer DeGale to win on points Funky_Monk 02-24-2012, 04:42 AM Both are good, but I prefer DeGale to win on points Late to the party!? |
